'True' location not being found after using a VPN?

Yesterday, I briefly used a VPN to access a website that normally Cloudflare has blocked me from (no idea why), and turned it off immediately after visiting the site. However, I then found that the websites I use that rely on my 'true' location don't know where I am - Google Maps 'can't find my precise location' and another website seems to think that I am in a town in Scotland, several hundred miles away (I'm in the UK Midlands), which is not useful when I'm accessing a site that needs to know where I am. I've tried restarting the browser, restarting my laptop (it's still the same today, over a day later), clearing cache and cookies from these sites, and restarting the router. None of which has made any difference. I've used a VPN on that site before and reverted to my 'normal' location afterwards without issues. It's not a device thing as it finds my location OK using another browser, and my tablet also finds my location correctly. I've checked and performed an update to Opera GX too. Before posting this message, the automated email sent to say that there's been a new login on my Opera account also shows the correct location based on my IP address, so that's not the issue either. Of course I've turned the VPN on and off again too. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be, or any other potential solutions please?
