      Any help appreciated.

I migrated from my Windows 10 laptop to a new Windows 11 one using PCMover. Opera moved over, but the Speed Dial and Extensions are gone. So I closed Opera on the old laptop, copied my Opera launch folder and Opera Stable profile folder to the new laptop after deleting those folders from the old. All bookmarks are there including bookmarks bar but no Speed Dials nor Extensions. How do I retrieve them, I had thought Extensions and Speed Dials were included in the profile folder.

      Help

The installation of extensions are tied to the user account they were installed with. Opera will remove them if the profile with the extensions is loaded by Opera with a difference user. Even if you have the same exact username on the new laptop, it's still considered a different user.

So, you have to just have to reinstall them from https://chromewebstore.google.com/ and https://addons.opera.com/.

If you enable Opera Sync on the old Opera and choose to sync extensions, extensions from addons.opera.com will sync where enabling Syncing and syncing extensions in the new Opera will cause those extensions to get automatically reinstalled. An extensions data and settings won't be synced though.

For bookmarks, these days, reusing the "Bookmarks" file on a different Opera might cause some or all of the bookmarks in it to be treated as imported or from a different device. So, look for the other Opera's speed dials at the URL opera://bookmarks. They might be in an imported folder in the "Bookmarks Bar" folder or might be in some "other speed dials" folder where you can move them to the main "Speed Dials" folder.

If you use Opera Sync to sync bookmarks, the speed dials might end up in an "other speed dials" folder too.

You can also use the drop-down at the bottom of the opera://bookmarks page to export your bookmarks to an HTML file. Then, in the new Opera, you can goto the URL opera://settings/importData, select "Bookmarks HTML file" in the drop-down and point it to the HTML file. Then, you can try finding things at the opera://bookmarks page where you can move them where you want.

@burnout426 So, I guess it's not possible to sync JUST speed dials without bringing in all the other bookmarks also. Before syncing to the new computer, I see that there are the separate Speed Dial Box and the Bookmarks Box, when I tell the Opera on the new laptop to sync, do I have the choose to bring ONLY the Speed Dials??

I copied my Speed Dial entries from Other Speed Dial and voila, pasted them onto my home page, there they ALL were and ALSO in the correct order, thanks Burnout

@bbildman Under the "Sync Data" section on the opera://settings/syncSetup page, there's just the option for "Bookmarks", which includes speed dials (as they're bookmarks too). There's no option to sync only speed dials.
