Daily writing prompt
You would think that this would be an easy question to answer. Since being homebound, I’m not able to do many of the things that I still would like to, but we adapt. So here are the five things I do now, just for fun.
- I play hide and seek with my grandson and some of the neighbor’s kids, when he comes to visit.
- Watch some new t.v.series like High Potential, and Irrational, to name a couple.
- Playing chess with my grandson and his cousin’s. It is fun to see young children interested in games that are not played on screens.
- Sitting outside and watching the squirrels and birds.
- Reading, writing and painting.
Love is more than an emotion
Love is easily confused with passion, romance, feelings. and sex. Emotions are like the surface of the water. Sometimes it is as still as glass, and then the waves can range from what I call ankle slappers, to tidal waves. Emotions are not consistent. How we feel can change for many reasons. Love however love is always love, it does not change. God is love and He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Jesus told us that there is no greater love than a man lay down his life for another(John 15:13). He did not just speak these words, He lived them when He gave His life to pay for our sins. ‘For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’.(John 3:16) Faith, hope, and love and the greatest of these is love. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ We can exist without love, but can you actually live without love? Love is alive, and it is a living, and growing. You have to nurture it, and care for it to keep it alive. Love is not passive and it is not just a word, or a feeling. The only true love I have ever know is the love of my God. He never leaves me. He comforts me when I need to be comforted. He picks me up when I fall. He collects my every tear, because even they a valuable to Him. His love is not determined by how I feel but by Who He is.
I still have much to learn about love, and much to unlearn about what I had thought love was.
I have a question #20
There is so much confusion today about identity. I remember a question Jesus asked Peter. “But who do you say I am?”
Matthew 16:14-16/ Mark 8:28-30/ Luke 19:19-21
Jesus is called by many names. Emanuel, God is with us. He is the Lamb of God and the Lion of Judah. He is the Son of God, our Savior and Redeemer. The list goes on. Myself, I am a daughter, a mother, A sister, and aunt. I am also a child of God, a friend, a student and teacher. My name is Julie and the Japanese name given to me by my aunt is Reiko. I have had many nicknames, ‘Jewels’ is a name nickname my mom first called me and what many friends still call me. I am proud to be a woman and a mother and grandmother. A woman has wisdom and strength. A woman can carry a life within her. There is still much that I am learning about myself, but my identity in Christ Jesus is the one of who I am most proud to be. So here is my question.
Question #20: Who are you?
This song just fits.
I have a question #19
Life is not easy, most of us face difficulties. At times you can feel like giving up, but something gives you a reason to hold on and keep trying.
So my question for you is;
Question #19: What gives you hope?
Beauty/Bi
Can you find me? (Kitty in a tree)
The impatient moon
Who is she?
She recognized her,
but she was not sure from where.
She could not stop staring.
She knew that she knew her,
but her memory was failing her.
Staring in the mirror she saw her reflection,
but she could not recognize the woman staring back at her.
For so long she had been who ever she needed to be,
and somewhere she had lost who she really was.
Playing whatever part she had to so that she could fit in and be accepted.
The woman she had known seems to have disappeared.
So she stares at the woman in the mirror and wonders,
Who is she?
