Dark Angels For Sale

Here are the details of my Dark Angels army that I am selling at Imperial Outpost Games gamer's garage sale on 8/9.  This collection includes 73 miniatures and goes back to the late 90's when I first got into 40K.

Here is what is included:

HQ -
Captain
Banner
Tech Marine
Apothecary
Librarian
2 robed marines

Troops -

Three 10 man squads with Plasma Cannon and Plasma gun
5 man Scout squad with CCW
5 man Scout squad with 2 shotguns, 2 snipers and a heavy bolter

Fast Attack -

6 man Assault squad with jump packs
6 man Assault squad with CCW

Heavy Support -

5 man Devastator squad with Lascannons
5 man Devastator squad with Missile Launchers

Extras -

2 Sargents with Power Fists
2 Meltaguns

I am looking for $350 for this collection.  I am pretty sure you could not buy this new for that price.  And you certainly can't get a few of these models any more.  There are only a few figures that need some details finished.  I had started to rebase several years ago so the basing is not consistent.  For the most part if the edges were all black they would look fine.

I have no idea how this points out with the new codex but I am sure it is very useable with only minor adjustments.

Deathwing Army For Sale

I have come to the realization that I do not need to keep 5 armies for a game I am not playing and have not played in a couple of years (and have no immediate plans to play again).  With that in mind I have decided to sell my Dark Angels army starting with the Deathwing.  Next week I will be sell a bunch of stuff at a local gamer's garage sale so I wanted to put some pictures up for people who might be interested.

The army consist of the following:

Land Raider Crusader with Forgeworld doors
Three Dreadnoughts (2 metal and one plastic)
Terminator Captain
Terminator Chaplain
Terminator Librarian
3 Terminator squads of 5

This army was built and painted many years ago (4th edition I think) and may no longer be 'legal' under the current edition.  I have no idea but I am sure that someone can make it work with minimal changes.

The asking price for the collection is $450, which is a good deal for an army full of killer vintage models and well painted.

I am trying to get the rest of the Dark Angels Space Marines sorted out and documented.  That will be sold at the same even as a separate lot.  Stay tuned for more pictures.

Ravenwing Speeder

Just a couple of shots of my first Ravenwing speeder. This is actually a speeder restoration. The speeder started life, and did a lot of service, as an Imperial Fists speeder.

It is amazing how hard it is to cover yellow even with black!

The speeder is a little beat-up and the paint job is a quicky, but I think it looks good. One more to go.

Dark Angel's Plasma Gunner

This is the first Dark Angels marine I have painted in about 5 years. I painted a bunch of Deathwing last year but it has been a long time for the regular guys. I am working on updating this army for the DA codex and it is turning into a pain. The new codex is more restrictive than the previous version and I am unable to run the army the way I used to. It is forcing me to paint some new elements. This will allow me to update the basing to match my Deathwing and to touch up some of the older models.

The Deathwing

With the release of the new Dark Angels Codex for Warhammer 40K I thought it was about time I posted some inspiration. These pictures are of my Deathwing army that I painted last summer. I posted some (or maybe all) of these pictures on the Adeptus Arizona forum but I never got around to putting them on my main web-site.

First up is the Headquaters unit.

Next up are the Deathwing Dreadnoughts.

This army has two troop units (which are no longer legal under the new codex).

All of the terminators have the Deathwing symbol on the right shoulder pad. These are from some very old transfer sheets.

Here is a close-up of one of the Sergents.

For Heavy Support we have the Landraider Crusader.

This army is a lot of fun to play but it was very tough to win with the old codex. Hopefully the new rules will allow for more flexibilty in the army creation which should translate to greater success on the battlefield.
