Who am I

Me @ the most recent IndieWebCamp in Berlin :^)

What do I need a website for? What makes me special? Nothing. I'm just somebody with a passion for websites and messing around with the technology on a basic level.

I'm a poet, artist, scientifictionist, singer, hedonist, optimist, trained media designer and computer science student in Germany (I also have a German zone on this site). I blog anytime I feel like it which is about once a month or so.

The website

Why?

Fun! I am not trying to get anything out of this site but a channel for expressing myself, a hobby, a community of friends and a platform for playing around with technology. To quote one of those silly blog posts I make:

Talking about a personal website or blog, if it's the same type as mine, like it's an investment is like talking about a novel or a painting set or a video game like an investment. Do you see how silly that seems? I don't get any money out of it. I get enjoyment, I get a hobby, I get community and I get fun. Isn't that enough? Furthermore I try to rely less and less on larger silos to host everything I do online since they have a tendency to suddenly get bought by Elon Musk, change their content policies or straight up die. It's fortunate I don't actually have to. My goal is to one day be as self sufficient as possible with my online actvities, namely actually self host on my own hardware as well.

The design

The design of this site is constantly evolving! As of August 2025 I'm trying out a mostly monochrome look for the site—testing how you can design something without bringing color into it. It also has the upside of immediately passing any color-based accessibility problems, or so I hope.

I love messing around with webdesign and HTML/CSS and my site has had many looks through the years, such as one with spinning cow that recites Much Ado About Nothing (image). My base approach is to disregard most manipulative practices of commercial webdesign—if you stay on ths site or click a link it'll be because you actually are interested. I'm not selling anything.
