I've been using Reedsy to write my novel, and so far I've had a great experience. One of my favorite features is how organized it keeps everything in one place. Beyond just writing chapters, it lets you build out your characters, create your story world, and maintain a book bible, which has been incredibly helpful for keeping track of details as my story grows.

I also love that you can add images to your chapters and notes. Being able to keep visual inspiration alongside my writing helps me stay immersed in the story and makes it easier to maintain consistency with my characters and settings.

Overall, Reedsy has been a fantastic tool for planning and drafting my book. If you're looking for a writing platform that helps you stay organized while developing a novel, I'd definitely recommend giving it a try.

I upgraded to Reedsy Studio from Google Documents. It had such a positive impact. There are so many tools and options I could use to help make my writing experience the best ever. I recommend this website 100%. Google Document was fine for starting my writing, but Reedsy will help me finish it in less than a month! The only reason why I gave it 4 stars, is because I only downloaded it 2 days ago. Please use this writing website. I'm obsessed!

I purchased developmental editing for 2 books at the same time from the same editor. Per Reedsy's guidelines developmental edit includes in-line comments within the manuscript. For the first book, the editor only provided an assessment letter. When I asked for in-line comments, he told me, "You would need to hire a copy editor for that." So, I reported the first book to Reedsy and cancelled the 2nd book before he could begin the 2nd. The first book Reedsy ruled in my favor with a 90% refund as I was not given what I purchased. However, for the 2nd book, I was told that I have to accept the cancellation fee because I cancelled outside the "Free window." The editor was unwilling to waive the cancellation fee. However, this is the same editor that states he does not provide in-line comments for developmental editing. It would have been counterproductive to not cancel the 2nd book because I already know he does not provide the full scope of the job as he told me this in writing. I gave 2 stars because they helped with the refund for the first book, however they failed on the 2nd book by forcing me to accept a cancellation fee for an editor that admits in writing that he does not fully complete developmental editing. Do not hire the same editor for 2 books until he or she completes the edit for the first one. As, Reedsy will make you accept a cancellation fee even for an editor that admits in writing, he does not complete the job in its entirety.

Reedsy is brilliant — really easy to use and a great platform overall. Finding and connecting with an editor was straightforward, and the whole experience has left me impressed with the site. It’s made the process of working on my book so much smoother. Highly recommend to any author looking for quality editorial support.

I absolutely love this platform. It motivates me to write and actually finish my writing tasks, and keeps all my work and thoughts so much more organized than a google doc. The only particular drawback I can think of is a bunch of worldbuilding not being available to free users, but that’s not even a problem because I can use basic notes for that and also other sites like world anvil.

Reedsy has the mix of products authors need at every stage of their development. I have taken a range of courses, used their editors and coaches, scoured their directories for agents, sat in on a number of podcasts/ webinars and had my books reviewed by them. The quality of instruction and services is consistently good and their coaches are some of the best.
