Thomas E. Mercure was an administrative judge for the 3rd Judicial District of New York. Mercure retired from the bench on March 1, 2014. He served 33 years on the bench and wrote 3,000 opinions during his career as a judge.[1] He was appointed to his most recent position in January 2013.[2][3] During his career he also sat on the New York Court of Appeals to hear two cases, in 1994 and 2011. The 1994 case was related to the World Trade Center bombing.[1]

Judge Mercure graduated from Saint Michael's College in 1965 and from Georgetown University Law Center in 1968.[2][4][5]
