James Edward Doyle (1915-1987) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin.[1]

Doyle was nominated by President Lyndon Johnson on April 29, 1965, to a seat vacated by David Rabinovitz; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 21, 1965, and received commission the next day. From 1978-1980, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on July 7, 1980. He served the Western District of Wisconsin until his death on April 1, 1987.[1] Doyle was succeeded in this position by John Shabaz.
