Finnish Troops to Lebanon in November

Finland's troop deployment to Lebanon will probably not take place before November, according to the Defence Ministry.

Finland has pledged to send teams whose main responsibility will be to clear away debris and help restore infrastructure.

The Head of the Defence Policy Department, Pauli Järvenpää, told the newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet that it will take some time to get these teams the proper equipment. This includes bulldozers that can withstand landmine blasts.

Finland's participation will cost around 35 million euros, he added.
