my favorite thing about firstprince is their extreme pet name usage. baby, babe sweetheart, love, darling, they do it all. and usually i don't really care about petnames but with them it feels so meaningful because it's the opposite of the titles they were thrust into. "baby." is the entire opposite of "your royal highness." and henry's use of endearments is so precious to me because he's loved alex for so long and you can feel that in every sentence casey wrote.
