Everyone in the EU should feel safe and free to love who they want and to be their true self ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜    Today, we have adopted the new LGBTIQ+ Equality Strategy for 2026–2030.    The strategy focuses on three key areas:  🌈 Protecting LGBTIQ+ people from violence in all its forms  🌈 Empowering LGBTIQ+ people to live free from discrimination and have equal rights in all areas of life  🌈 Engaging society as a whole to advance equality together    This new strategy is a declaration that the European Union stands firm against hatred and discrimination.     Curious about what the new LGBTIQ+ Equality Strategy 2026–2030 means for everyone in the EU? Culture plays a vital role in preserving unity and building resilience, especially in times of war.   We continue backing Ukraine’s cultural and creative sectors with the selection of 4 new projects, bringing Creative Europe funding for Ukraine to €7M in 2024-2025.    These initiatives will help preserve cultural heritage and support artists, both inside and outside the country, as they address the ongoing impact of Russia’s war of aggression.   Discover the selected projects here: https://lnkd.in/ecEhYBKA

Enough warnings. It’s time to act.     Record sea temperatures reached 21°C in spring 2024, while in early 2025, Arctic Sea ice lost an area nearly four times the size of Poland. Sea levels have risen by 228 millimetres since 1901, threatening ecosystems, fisheries, and UNESCO heritage sites across Europe.   Nature is under pressure, with climate losses doubling in a decade and one-third of Europe is facing water stress.     But Europe is taking action:    ✅ Emissions are down nearly 37% since 1990  ✅ Renewables power over 24% of EU's final energy use  ✅ Air pollution and premature deaths are falling  ✅ Innovation in clean tech is surging     We are fully committed to climate neutrality, nature restoration, and a resilient future.    The planet won’t wait. Justice and the rule of law are essential for a democratic, trustworthy, and inclusive Europe.    The proposed EU budget will allocate nearly €800 million to the Justice Programme.    It will deliver:  ⚖️ Faster cross-border justice for people and businesses  ⚖️ Better access to justice for all, especially vulnerable groups  ⚖️ Smarter use of digital tools to make justice efficient and accessible  ⚖️ Stronger support for victims  ⚖️ More use of digital tools to make justice accessible  ⚖️ Cross-border cooperation to fight serious crime    Justice that works for people strengthens trust in our democracy.    #ThePowerOfTogether

When our skies are breached, our resolve must be unbroken.     This week’s informal meeting of the EU leaders reflected a growing awareness of Europe’s defence needs.     Investment is surging, with SAFE’s €150 billion just the start. We are working to close capability gaps, boost interoperability, and drive momentum through capability coalitions.     We are launching the Eastern Flank Watch, with a ‘drone wall’ to guard our borders.      Our support to Ukraine remains unwavering.     Sanctions are tightening, €2 billion will go to drones, and a Reparations Loan, backed by frozen Russian assets, will support long-term military aid.     Ongoing cooperation with our regional partners is key – as President von der Leyen’s participation at the European Political Community summit showed.     Europe: stronger together, safer together.  Europe is stepping up to protect every inch of our territory.    More 👉 https://lnkd.in/dzyXTy8t 

We have not forgotten the people of Valencia, who continue to feel the impact of the destructive DANA floods in October 2024.   Today, we are committing nearly €1.6 billion to support the recovery efforts. These funds will:    ✅ Rebuild infrastructures  ✅ Support SMEs  ✅ Restore ecosystems  ✅ Boost climate resilience  They will also finance emergency measures retroactively, starting from the day the DANA first caused damage.    🤝 In times of adversity, Europe’s greatest strength is solidarity. link.europa.eu/y8ntm8   #EUSolidarity
