I am not one that puts a whole lot of stock into VICE "News", they seem to lean far too much to one side of the social and political spectrum and rarely have any objectivity. This documentary is no exception, they focus too much on negative and many times simply perceived negativity surrounding Elon Musk, his fans and the people who invest in his Tesla company. They dance around his autism and quirkiness only to mark him as secretly incompetent or overly mean. One journalist was ultra negative and extremely biased, even going so far as to say some legally actionable statements, hopefully Elon's lawyers see this documentary at some point. I cannot say I enjoyed this film in any way.
I really wanted to like this, the news I'd read on the series said that the show would revolve around Red and Kitty but it does not. It revolves around Eric and Donna's daughter Leia (yeah, a dumb Star Wars joke) who comes to stay the summer with her grandparents and befriends a group of kids who all, of course hang out with her in the basement and occasionally get high (they really change things up *rolls eyes*)
The show doesn't really reflect the 90's in any way, it seems like it's written by zoomers who did a half hour of research into the decade. It could be still be set in the 70's and it would still be the same.
The new kids (actors AND their characters) on the show are mostly awful, Callie Haverda who plays the main character is an awful actress, just awful. Her and the other kids deliver their lines as if they are on a Disney show from the early 00's. One of the male leads is wearing lipstick, not just a touch up so his features can show on camera but we're talking slathered on his lips thickly, it's distracting every time he comes on screen. The writing is abysmally bad when it comes to the kids, but Red and Kitty still pop and their chemistry is still great but they make up maybe 20% of the show sadly, the other cast members poking their heads in the door is great but very limited. It would also have been nice for them to at least mention Hyde, I know the showrunners won't have Danny Masterson on the show but at least come up with a clever way of writing him off, his character is far too important in the original shows legacy.

Over the last few months, I have been re-watching The Mentalist series, last night I reached this episode which is (at least in my opinion) the absolute worst episode and makes Jane out to be an unjust and evil individual. He simply sees a man at a political rally and decides he is a man that is capable of murder. Granted the man does look suspicious and he (Jane) is right to tell Cho and Van Pelt to question the man, but like they do on many occasions in the show, when they confront the man to ask him "questions" they simply grab him, slam him against a wall and illegally search him, something that is forbidden for police in real life (even in the land of fruits and nuts). Finding that he is armed and that the gun is 100% legal and that he has not committed any crimes, they even mention they could face legal action for harassing him, they decide to listen to Jane and molest the man, harass him and violate his rights until he finally does break the law. It's sickening and scary that the writers thought this was a good thing to do on such a good show. :(
