As game shows go, this one is entertaining and makes you think. The problems or puzzles to solve are alternately tricky, straightforward and slightly sophomoric but all in all fun to participate in. The host, along with the show, grows on you, as he banters with generally young contestants vying for paltry prize amounts. He remains supportive and congenial through the sarcasm and unlike most game show hosts, can't readily 'mail in' his performance, much of which is improvised or at least appears to be. Think you're bright? Try playing along and see how well you do! The show would benefit from a more diverse group of contestants, e.g., how about more folks over 30 or even 50? And maybe the producers could scrounge up more money for contestants to battle over; a thousand dollars or so per winning pair and nothing for the losing pair is peanuts compared to many other game shows.
Idiotest is GSN's newest addition to it's line-up of original programming.
What makes this new gameshow so unique? Trick Questions. Every question the players get must be read carefully. but they can't take too long, because every second counts - take too long and you won't win as much money.
Unfortunately, this gameshow needs a little work. It's very short and empty and not much action is going on. there needs to be a few more questions in each round. Ben Glieb is OK, but he's no Jeff Foxworthy.
However, it really does make you think before you answer, and that's where I give idiotest credit.

I started watching this on the Pluto streaming service. The host, Ben Glieb, really makes the show; he is that funny! Ben's interactions with the contestants provides a nice, personal touch; you almost feel like you know the contestants. The tests are fun to watch and try to solve. Many of the tests are incredibly easy, but some are at the level it would take a Mensa member to solve. I don't know how many full seasons the show has run, or whether it is still running, but I plan to continue to watch as many as I can. The one thing I can't believe, is how long reviews have to be to qualify for posting now!

All The complaints are all about the host Ben Gleib, who I do not think is as bad as people are making him out to be. He's a comedian who hosts the show, so yeah he's gonna make some jokes people will find "offensive". But are the contestants complaining? Not from the episodes I've seen! They are always enjoying their time on the show, win or lose. And Ben is enjoying hosting and talking with the contestants. Everyone is having fun on this show! The only people offended are some of those watching.....
The rest of us enjoy this game show! I've watched it with family and friends and they enjoy it too! The puzzles range from fairly easy to cleverly tricky, and some are incredibly tricky! It is a fun show to solve the puzzles as you watch, at least from my experience. Give it a chance, I'm sure you will enjoy it too!

Unlike straightforward quizzers, Idiotest rewards lateral thinking under pressure. It has one of the highest play-at-home scores in recent memory. Its puzzles can be tough, but always fair. You have to stay on your toes: is there a missing apostrophe that completely changes the question? Can any word be interpreted in a different way?
It's a delight to play along. Yes, the snarky humour will annoy some viewers, but you can hardly fault the gameplay itself. Idiotest is a hidden gem.
