Quentin Tarantino's plan to retire after directing his 10th film has meant that the closer he got to that number, the more anticipated the releases were. As he spaces out his films more and more, audiences revisit his back catalog. Memorable characters stand out with their outlandish names and out-of-the-box dialogue, in beautifully shot scenes that are re-watched time and time again. It's no secret that the director has created a roster of actors and movie stars he enjoys working with and regularly brings back for his new projects.
Tarantino has also already said he considers both volumes of Kill Bill one film so he could easily opt for another two-part picture as his finale, or even a trilogy, creating space for many players to return. There are also character tropes he leans into that viewers will be expecting and hoping for when the last film is finally released.

After a busy August with the Season 2 premiere of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” which continues throughout September with new episodes through Oct. 3, “Batman: Caped Crusader,” and more, Amazon streaming services Prime Video and Freevee will have a comparably quiet September.
Most of the action for the month will come from Prime Video’s sports options. After the Sept. 5 Kickoff Game at Arrowhead Stadium with the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs going up against the Baltimore Ravens, Prime Video’s third season of Thursday Night Football begins with AFC East champs Buffalo Bills taking on the Miami Dolphins in Miami. The WNBA and Nwsl also continue their seasons on Prime Video, with matches all month long from New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury, Angel City Fc, and more top teams.

Space Cadet, starring Emma Roberts, has a 24% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. This marks Roberts' third consecutive low-rated film, following Madame Web and Maybe I Do. Despite the low score, Space Cadet could still find an audience on Prime Video and potentially improve its rating.
Rotten Tomatoes gives a score to Emma Roberts new Prime Video movie Space Cadet, and it continues a bleak trend for the actor. Released on July 4, Madame Web star Roberts latest film concerns a Florida party girl with bigger aspirations, who scams her way into astronaut training school, with comedic results. As directed by Liz W. Garcia, the Space Cadet cast also includes Tom Hopper, Gabrielle Union, Poppy Liu and Dave Foley.
Even with Roberts in the lead role, and a solid supporting cast behind her, critics are not over the moon about Space Cadet, as reflected in its just-revealed 24% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Space Cadet features a diverse ensemble cast full of strange, unique characters. Emma Roberts plays Rex Simpson, a woman from Florida in her early 30s who dreams of being an astronaut and makes up for the lack of traditional qualifications with her smarts, passion, and drive. Space Cadet has romantic comedy elements, with Tom Hopper playing Logan O'Leary, Rex's superior at NASA's Johnson Space Center and her main romantic interest.
The 2024 romantic-comedy movie Space Cadet follows Emma Roberts as an unconventional hopeful astronaut with a hilarious supporting cast. The original Prime Video movie takes an interesting approach to the space movie subgenre through Roberts character and the rest of the astronaut candidates, comically referred to as Ascans. While Space Cadet is certainly a comedy with romantic elements, it has an important message and a lot of heart behind it. Space Cadet can make viewers laugh out loud and...

Emma Roberts has been in some iconic movies like Valentine’s Day, It’s Kind of a Funny Story, Scream 4, We’re the Millers, and The Blackcoat’s Daughter. And ever since she first stepped into the world of American Horror Story in 2013, she has become one of the most recognizable faces in the horror genre, at least on the small screen. But it seems like she hasn’t had the same kind of luck when it comes to feature films since the 2015 film Nerve. And it’s not like she hasn’t tried. Roberts has done rom-coms, science-fantasies, action-horrors, straight-up horrors, and whatever categories Madame Web and UglyDolls fall into. However, I think she has come up with the ultimate test for her fans in the form of Space Cadet.
Liz W. Garcia’s Space Cadet tells the story of Rex Simpson, a girl living in Florida who aspires to go to space.

As generative artificial intelligence marches on the entertainment industry, Hollywood is taking stock of the tech and its potential to be incorporated into the filmmaking process. No tool has piqued the town’s interest more than OpenAI’s Sora, which was unveiled in February as capable of creating hyperrealistic clips in response to a text prompt of just a couple of sentences. In recent days, the Sam Altman-led firm released a series of videos from beta testers who are providing feedback to improve the tech. The Hollywood Reporter spoke with some of those Sora testers about what it can, and can’t, really do.

There’s a lot to watch on Prime Video in October and, as you may have guessed, there’s spooky stuff galore in amongst Prime’s usual rotation of extensive library content.
In the movie Totally Killer, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka travels back in time to the 1980s to stop a serial killer. Then there’s Make Me Scream, a Halloween special that challenges celebrities to “a gruesome game of terror.” Renfield will also be streaming on the service for anyone who’s been dying (muahahaha!) to catch the Nic Cage Dracula film.
Outside of Prime Video’s more creepy fare, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods will debut, Upload will be back for a third season, and new film Awareness should scratch your sci-fi itch. Meanwhile, for Frasier heads – those who consider themselves utterly Frasier-pilled – all eleven seasons of the Cheers spinoff show will be streaming at the touch of a button.

With its list of new releases for March 2023, Amazon Prime Video might be rolling out its most impressive monthly lineup yet.

After more than a quarter-century as a movie star, Owen Wilson is finally suiting up to play a superhero in Secret Headquarters, the new Paramount Plus family flick directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. If those names sound familiar to you, it’s because they were behind such diverse and eccentric flicks as Paranormal Activity 3 & 4 (3 is by far the best movie in the franchise), the better-than-expected teen thriller Nerve, and the recent Netflix hit Project Power.
In this, Wilson plays a mild-mannered family man named Jake Kincaid who has a secret life. No, he’s not a killer or a bigamist – it’s all much more innocent than that. It turns out, he’s a legit superhero with a headquarters built under the family home. When villains attack and dad’s not home, his son and best pals must team up to defend the family fortress until...

"Whoever has this technology can do anything." Paramount Pictures has finally revealed an official trailer for Secret Headquarters, a superhero action comedy from the filmmakers Henry Joost & Ariel Schulman. This was originally set to open in theaters, but will instead be streaming directly on Paramount+ in August. Young Charlie Kincaid discovers a secret headquarters under his home that seems to belong to a powerful superhero. He shares it with his friends, and they start to believe that his estranged father might have a secret double life. When villains attack their home, they must team up to defend the headquarters. The film stars Walker, Scobell, Jesse Williams, Keith L. Williams, Momona Tamada, and Michael Peña, with Owen Wilson as Charlie's father. It's also produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, which means they spared no expense on the action. This definitely looks like it's trying to be a new Spy Kids movie, with ...

Stars: Lauren Beatty, Greg Bryk, Katharine King So, Michael Ironside, Judith Buchan | Written by Wendy Hill-Tout, Lowell | Directed by Amelia Moses
We reviewed Amelia Moses’ Bleed With Me at Fantasia last year. And now her latest feature, Bloodthirsty, co-written by Wendy Hill-Tout and her daughter Lowell, is screening at Frightfest after a successful US festival run. Her first film was a take on vampirism, the second takes on lycanthropy. Can she go two for two in updating classic monsters?
Grey is a singer with a hit debut album. She also has writer’s block and nightmares about becoming a wolf. Dr. Swan gives her pills but they aren’t helping. She might have a cure for her writing issues though. Vaughn Daniels a reclusive producer whose career is equal parts successful and controversial has offered his services. Grey and her girlfriend Charlie (Katharine King So; Transplant) take up residence at his isolated studio.

The “Dead Ringers” series at Amazon has added both Jennifer Ehle and Emily Meade in recurring roles, Variety has learned.
They join previously announced series lead Rachel Weisz as well as cast members Michael Chernus, Poppy Liu, Britne Oldford and Jeremy Shamos.
The series was announced at the streaming service in August 2020 with a straight-to-series order. It is a modern update of the 1988 David Cronenberg film of the same name. The series version will see Weisz playing the double lead role of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes, including pushing the boundaries on medical ethics in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s healthcare to the forefront.

Tony Scott was no stranger to remakes, having provided his take on 1974 classic The Taking of Pelham 123, and even considered updates on The Warriors and The Wild Bunch before he sadly took his own life in 2012. Now, with a sequel to his mega-hit Top Gun arriving later this year, his debut film The Hunger is also being revisited in the form of a remake.
Deadline reports that Angela Robinson (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women) will direct the project while Jessica Sharzer will be scripting. If you've been wondering if Project Power's Newt (better known as the guy on fire) is played by Machine Gun Kelly, the answer is "yes." And if you were surprised to see him appear in the Netflix film, you really shouldn't be. In fact, he made his acting debut back in 2014 in the romantic drama Beyond the Lights.

Set over a day and night in New Orleans, Project Power (now streaming on Netflix) pivots on a hot new street drug called Power that you swallow like a pill and kaboom! You’re a superhero. Well, you’re a superhero for five minutes … and the damn thing can kill you. No pill creates the same result; it’s unique to each user. It’s called Power. Packaged in a glimmering capsule, the secretive new drug and its attendant pushers arrive in a major American city, hit the streets, spread the pills, and move on. In its wake: a new class of addicts, people who have discovered that one hit of Power can unlock abilities — superhero-esque, you might say — they never knew they had. It’s a thrilling idea for an action film, and one that takes compelling shape in “Project Power,” the latest from “Catfish” filmmakers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. Still, armed with a stellar cast, including Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and rising star Dominique Fishback,

"You never know what your power is until your try it." Netflix has released the first official trailer for an intriguing new action thriller titled Project Power, the latest feature from Catfish directors Henry Joost & Ariel Schulman. When a pill that gives its users unpredictable superpowers for five minutes hits the streets of New Orleans, a teenage dealer and a local cop must team with an ex-soldier to take down the group responsible for its creation. Jamie Foxx stars with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and a cast including Dominique Fishback, Rodrigo Santoro, Colson Baker, Allen Maldonado, Amy Landecker, and Courtney B. Vance. This looks cool! Some slick visuals and full-on style, along with a fun twist on the superhero concept (just like The Old Guard). Only five minutes of power! And who knows what it will be? Scary but cool. I'm interested in giving this a watch, might be a good time.

We’re now at the halfway point of 2020 and while this year has seen some excellent films get a release, it’s been a tumultuous time determining the exact release calendar each month. As distributors are deciding often on-the-fly what strategies work best, as we look towards July, we’ve gathered our most-anticipated new arrivals based on what is currently scheduled.
We’ll also note that as of this publishing date A24 still has Saint Maud on its theatrical release schedule for July 17th, but we’ll be surprised if that takes shape, so we’ll only mention it at the top here. As the social media sphere steadily encroaches on “real life,” many filmmakers struggle with how to best translate the way characters interact in the digital space on to the big screen. How do you create cinematic interpretations that don’t feel out of touch with the way the Facebooks and Twitters and iMessages of the world actually work? The challenge has created its own genre, with films like “Searching” and “Unfriended” using virtual interactions to frame their narratives; other films have tried to shoehorn off-brand apps to approximate How We Live Now with less exciting results. But what does social media feel like?

The Mega Man live-action movie is one big step closer to becoming a reality. It's been revealed that Mattson Tomlin has been tapped to pen the screenplay for the upcoming video game adaptation. We first learned that Capcom was looking to turn one of their most popular characters into a movie franchise in October 2018. The McU isn’t planning on slowing down with the character introductions any time soon, as the already crowded cinematic universe is now exploring bringing Spider-Woman into the mix. And according to our sources, the studio already have an actress in mind to take over the role.
We’re being told that American Horror Story star Emma Roberts is being eyed to play the superhero on the big screen. There’s even a chance she might debut in Spider-Man 3, though nothing is certain as of yet and from what we understand, she’s just one name on Marvel’s wishlist at the moment. And given that this intel comes to us from the same sources who said the studio is eyeing Daniel Radcliffe for Moon Knight and Tom Holland is in talks for a Venom 2 cameo, both of which we now know to be true, we’ve no reason to doubt it.

The article provides the template for a music-driven comedy about a diversely talented group of cruise ship performers, and a jaded indie singer who must get over her Big Bad Self and learn that sequins, confetti canons, and making your audience happy isn’t always a bad thing.
Jessica Switch and Julia Hammer will oversee for Picturestart. Hill will executive produce. Picturestart was hatched by producer and former studio exec Erik Feig, with a focus on “discovery of voice” content and storytelling, which highlights emerging talent just finding their voices.
