Jib Polhemus started his career in the contemporary art business working in New York and Los Angeles. He then transitioned into the entertainment business starting his career at CAA.
In 2015, Jib founded the literary management company, source management + production where he represents cutting-edge directors and screenwriters.
In addition, Jib is President of Simon West Productions where he produces Film and TV with British director, Simon West (Les Ailes de l'enfer (1997), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Expendables 2 : Unité spéciale (2012)). As President of Simon West Productions, Jib has developed and sold numerous high profile projects to Warner Brothers, Universal, Fox, Paramount, Sony and others including La Chute du faucon noir (2001) directed by Ridley Scott.
Jib is currently in post on Sunrise starring Alex Pettyfer and Guy Pearce directed by Andrew Baird.
In 2022, he produced critically acclaimed feature film, Taurus, starring Colson Baker aka Machine Gun Kelly and written and directed by Tim Sutton (Last Son, Dark Night, Funny Face and Donnybrook). Taurus premiered at the prestigious Berlin film festival then on to Tribeca, Karlovy Vary, Newport, SCAD, Zürich and San Diego Film Festivals. Colson was honored with numerous awards for his breakout performance. Taurus also starred Megan Fox, Maddie Hasson, Lil TJay, Lil Meech, Scoot McNairy, Ruby Rose and Naomi Wild.
In 2022, he produced stoner comedy, Good Mourning, written and directed by Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun. Released by Open Road, it starred an impressive cast including Machine Gun Kelly, Pete Davidson, Becky G., Whitney Cummings, Dove Cameron and many more.
He also Executive Produced Boundless aka Sin Limites, an Amazon limited series, based on Magellan's perilous 1752 circumnavigation of the globe. Directed by Simon West (Con Air, Tomb Raider, Expendables 2).
In 2021, Polhemus produced the action thriller, One Way starring Colson Baker, Kevin Bacon, and Travis Fimmel which made New York Times must watch list in 2022. He also produced Stowaway directed by Declan Whitebloom starring Ruby Rose (The Meg), Patrick Schwarzenegger and Frank Grillo which premiered in theaters and AMC+ in August in 2022.
In 2021, Polhemus produced The Last Son, a blacklist script written by Greg Johnson and directed by Tim Sutton starring Sam Worthington, Colson Baker, Heather Graham, and Thomas Jane. The Last Son was in competition at the Deauville Film Festival 2021 and was listed in the New York Times as one of the best action films of 2022.
Also in 2020, he produced sci-fi thriller, Zone 414, directed by Andrew Baird starring Guy Pearce, Travis Fimmel and Matilda Lutz which debuted in the Top 10 most popular movies on Netflix in January 2022.
In television, he has developed and sold shows to most of the top networks including CBS, NBC, FOX, FX, TNT, and WB. He is currently developing shows for e1, Constantin, and Lionsgate.
In his free time, Jib Polhemus is on the advisory board of The Bahamas International Film Festival and judges UCLA's Masters Screenplay Writing Competition. He resides in Los Angeles, CA.
