I liked this film. The viuals were amazing and the proprietess of the lodge nailed her role. Well acted, some convoluted plot pieces that needed a lot of explaining within the film, but nevertheless a very reasonable watch for the season. Recommend.
Ok - super low budget - but surprising and just perfect for the season - not the best not nearly the worst....thoroughly surprised and we enjoyed it....
The storyline is plausible. (after all, if one can win the lotto, anything is possible)
The acting is top-shelf. Grace Zabriskie and Brad Dourif are the entertainment for this heartwarming film. We also get a bit of Michael Gross and Lochlyn Munro. Since it's filmed around Brian Head Lodge, Utah in winter, one can imagine the beautiful scenery. This is well worth a viewing, or two!
I wanted to sit down and enjoy a Christmas movie with a little intrigue and drama before reaching the happy ending. This movie was the perfect blending of those characteristics. A professional ski boarder gets stranded with an 8 month pregnant girl both headed to Denver when his 4x4 flips in serious snowstorm. They stumble upon a closed hotel. The owners aren't too keen about guests and as the story unfolds we learn why. Being pregnant they make room for her for just a few nights. Turns out the Rosemont Hotel used to be a big fancy popular hotel with many prominent guests. We learn in bits and pieces why that all changed. The pace picks up as the owner and her manager deliver the beautiful healthy baby boy with the help of first aide books. The doc arrives on snowmobiles and everyone is doing fine. More of the mystery of the hotel is revealed as the owner prepares for Christmas to welcome home mother and the baby. The movie ends with a wonderful intimate Christmas feast and plans for the future. When it ended I really wanted to see the sequel to see how it all played out.
This is a touching tale of love and good prevailing. The mountain scenery is gorgeous and the lodge beautiful. A nice story with excellent acting. Definitely worth watching.
