This is not as bad as the other review suggests. True, there is a bedroom scene and brief views of a woman's rear and breast, but they are very brief and integral to the plot.
It is not really science-fiction. The story is more about the competition among the media in covering a UFO story. It takes place in Poland during the Cold War, so politics are involved as well.
I found it amusing. Some characters are quite quirky, and the acting is good (I am assuming, since I do not speak Polish),
While I do not mind reading subtitles, parts of the plot were a bit confusing to me, thus the 7/10 rating.
If you do not go into the show expecting alien abductions and such, you might enjoy it.

It's kind of hard to say what this series actually is. It's a bit of satire, a bit of social commentary, a bit of comedy...... It's not a series you'd normally see made by a western studio as it doesn't really follow western media formula.
I think it's mostly about the overall atmosphere in Poland in 1980, right before imposition of martial law. The social angle is in the background, but plainly visible. In the end "the aliens, real or not" nicely fits into it.
It's an interesting series, it's just might not be for people who are accustomed to traditional humour, built around jokes, gags and funny mishaps.

Watched it all in a binge, felt engaged and made me want more.
Witty, intelligent and visually cool. Half of the actors feel like normal you and me people. The others are portrayed like cartoon figures, a pretty unusual mix.
70s vibe may be a bit overdone, orange everywhere, yellow cars, cigarettes and all, but who cares.
Old SF fan here, hate what Hollywood has made out of the Genre. "UFO project" feels more like a SF short story with obscure twists and turns and mixed in satire. Give it a chance my friends.
Nothing for viewers who dwell on the typical braindead action, good vs evil, the chosen liberator theme, and/or computer supported special effect. All done by hand by true artisans.

Wow can't understand the low rating on this one. I rarely ever write reviews, but when I saw the low score I had to set record straight. What a fun experience to be had. A well written, beautifully shot, unique show. Vibrant colors, nailed the 80s feel, quirky characters, interesting storyline, good acting, great dialogue, I mean what else do you want? Also a very cool soundtrack. I've seen just about everything under the sun, this was a refreshingly good time. I'm giving it a well deserved 8 out of 10. Do yourself a favor and check it out, then leave a proper rating so the IMDb folks out there don't overlook this one.
Project UFO is set in 1980s communist Poland, where competing media personalities are on a quest to find evidence proving the existence of aliens. Interest spikes when stories about a possible "Polish Roswell" begin to circulate, and the growing body of evidence suggests the event might actually be real. But under a communist regime, nothing is that simple-various individuals within the system have their own interests and motivations to get involved.
This mini-series, with four episodes in its first season-and no confirmation of a second season-features a cast of unique and quirky characters. We follow a handful of people from the village where the UFO sightings originated, as well as government officials and media figures, all of whom operate under the influence of state interests. Much of the series revolves around relationships, secrets, and the ongoing effort to uncover the truth behind the incident.
I thought the acting was solid across the board. Since this is a Polish show with voice-over dubbing, I can't fully evaluate the original performances, but everything looked convincing to me. The cast included plenty of small gestures and subtle moments that, while not essential to the plot, showed a real commitment to quality. There were even a few characters that felt straight out of The X-Files. I also appreciated how the series constantly keeps you guessing about whether the UFO incident was real or not.
