I've always felt that Slavic mythology and folklore are criminally underrepresented in modern television, which is why this show instantly caught my attention. Right from the very first episode, we're introduced to an interesting Serbian/Slavic legend.
And such an interesting choice of the place to film! Belgrade, filled with beautiful sceneries and historical landscapes, is such a refreshment in the sea of shows with huge skyscrapers and the sterile corporate backdrops.
Happy to see someone is finally tapping into the vast cultural heritage the old Slavs left behind across Europe. There's a lot of stories, symbols, and forgotten lore waiting to be brought to life, and this show seems ready to explore it.
Also, I like how they stayed true to themselves in the terms of filming style, without too much use of CGI. It's giving 00s and 2014 vibes again and I'm all in!

It's ok could be better not the same appeal as the original it's just not keeping me glued to the screen-they had the Jake stone Character kick off the series and then was never seen again, Have some of the other Characters stop by,Noah Wyle is producing but not acting would like to see him in an episode or even another Movie. They could use well more know actors like they've had before the first season they had Jane Curtain and Bob Newhart and then we got Jenkins, played by John Larroquette he kept it interesting I don't think it will make it without one or at least get guest stars that our known.
Things are a bit bleak these days for fans of shows like this, so I am happy that at least most of the episodes so far (1-8) have been pretty good. But there have been some misses and this is primarily caused by poor writing and editing. Specifically, as mentioned by other reviewers, how the "team" comes together was handled poorly, and some episodes have just been straight up clunkers. No way to sugar coat it.
Another major issue is "incredulity". Obviously, we can easily handle any kind of magical artifact they cook up, but the aspects of each show that are non-magical, and supposed to be based on science or etc. So far have been laughable and borderline impossible.
Callum McGowan and Olivia Morris have been the standout actors in my opinion, with regard to on-screen presence and ability. Olivia comes across as 100% genuinely happy to be there; the rest, not so much. Although I will throw Jessica Green a bone and say that making her character be stern all the time maybe doesn't give her much to work with. (I hated Christian Kane's character in the original show for a similar reason, although at some point you must apply some blame to the actor.) I also think we need more of the very cool Caroline Loncq!
Season 2 is currently filming, and I hope they don't sit on the episodes. They need to hone the show "machine" and this requires timely feedback and correction. Otherwise, I fear there may not not be a season 3.

When I heard the next chapter was coming out, I was so excited cause I really enjoyed the original. The characters chemistry, the acting, the story lines, there was no sense of boredom in any of the episodes in all four seasons.
When the first episode dropped and I saw Christian Kane, I was totally stoked. Then the rest of the cast showed up and I was like, ok, let me give them a chance.
There is no chemistry between the cast, like the original Librarians.
When the next chapter came out , I went back to watch the original, then I started watching the next chapter and was wholly dissatisfied. They should use better actors for The Librarian and The Guardian.

I more or less enjoyed the predecessor (it was more my partner's thing, and I just sort of experienced it in passing) so we decided to try this one, too. It's more or less OK, as far as these things go, but the acting and writing is pretty poor, and as someone who has spent a lot of time overseas, I just don't understand why they've set in Belgrade but all the characters speak perfect English (maybe with an accent, but sometimes not) and all the signs in hospitals and all through the series are also in English. Seems very improbable to me (not that the magical elements are "probable"...). I suppose it doesn't do any harm, but it's hardly quality tv.

- TriviaCW entertainment president Brad Schwartz told TVLine that they were "100%" trying to get at least one original Librarians cast member to at least put in a cameo and pass the proverbial baton -- and they ended up securing Christian Kane, who will reprise his role as Jacob Stone in a guest-starring capacity.
