Can someone please apologise to Asher Keddie and Tina Bursill? That would be great thanks.
If this is what post Brian Walsh can look like at Foxtel/Binge I dread whats coming next.
I just could not get into this and watched it over the course of a few days because there is no way this should've been made into a show.
Can we please stop greenlighting peoples memoirs please because after the failure that was Warnie this year you think Binge/Foxtel would've served up something just a little bit better.
Don't get me wrong Asher is a national treasure but I feel like someone just handed her the script and went "read it now"... Do yourself a favour, skip this.

Season 1 was a bit slow going as you get to know the characters but by season 2 I was hooked. I understand what people are saying about the main character being unlikeable at times in season 1, but if you've read the book this is kind of crucial to the story. I think we're so used to the main character being the perfect person we're gunning for, but I love that Evelyn Jones is flawed. I love the Mamamia brand & the story of how it came about, so it helps to watch it with some back story, but in saying that my husband watched it with me & also loved it. Laughs, tears, and Asher Keddie. Loved it!
Great show, as a sixty year old bloke I found this an interesting insight into how women think ( assuming it is close to reality of course ). Funny, endearing and also a little bit cringy.
Made me thankful to be a man...lol. Great Aussie stuff! Definitely worth a watch. I gave it 6 Stars, could possibly be 8 Stars but I am conservative with my ratings.
Can not wait for season 2.
Just binged season 2 and I was blown away. I did not think they could improve on the first season but believe me, they did. Asher Keddie's performance was again outstanding, so believable, so honest and very funny.
I really do hope this show is a true representation of how women think as it truly opened my narrow male mind as to a females perspective on life.
I highly recommend this show, watch it to the end, episode 8 is well worth it!
I have increased my rating to a well deserved 8 Stars.

... eight episodes less than half-hour each, you can get through entire first season in one evening... a fun program with lots of very good performances... not for all audiences, those very critical are never going to like this type of work
... there's family-friends-relationships-divorce-work.environment-feminism-et al... lots-to-tackle, and for the most part all handled exceptionally well... good promising series have been shut down many times before after only one season... we can only hope that is not the fate of this very worthwhile little production from down under... .. trending towards fewer episodes, wish this time were more.

I thoroughly enjoyed this! I'm not normally a massive fan of Australian productions. Although I've definitely been wonderfully surprised in recent years. We've turned out some great stuff and it's a really exciting time for Aussie shows.
But what drew me to this was the premise being somewhat inspired by Mia Freedman. I remember Mamamia when it was just Mia, and I loved it.
Anyway, I can't really fault this show in any way.
The characters, the story line, the issues being tackled. It all felt very authentic whilst also being entertaining. I binged this over 2 days and I really hope we got another season.
