I was skeptical from the beginning scene, not sure what to expect. Was this a dark comedy or just crap? After 15 minutes I realized that this show is downright hilarious and gross and rude!!! Love it!!
The show deserves a proper ending - season 3 or at least a one long episode/movie. It's dark, funny, crazy with some twists and great characters. Christopher Meloni is just amazing, I couldn't believe he could be that good. Hopefully someone wake up in Netflix or other network and make people happy with telling us the whole story of Happy and Nick Sax.
First I want to say THIS SHOW IS NOT FOR KIDS. There are so many adjectives that can be used for this show. Sharp, witty, salty, blaring, heavy, abrasive, aggressive, evil, outrageous, repulsive, immoral, zany, amoral. I guess the best one to describe this show is insane. Christopher Meloni has played crazy very well in many roles but this is role is jaw droppingly awe inspiring. His new imaginary friend voiced by Patton Oswald is the perfect counterpart to Meloni's insanity. Christopher Fitzgerald and Patrick Fishler are absolutely amazing in their roles. Don't let the imaginary unicorn fool you, this show is brimming with originality. You will be laughing one moment and on the verge of vomiting the next. This is one of the weirdest and most disturbing shows I have ever seen. And I absolutely love it.
The trailer doesn't do this great show justice.
This is a very refreshing, unique, compelling and hysterical show Iike nothing I've ever seen before.
Christopher Meloni is perfect in what will become known as his best role ever.
The subject matter is admittedly dark and creepy, so the show might not be for everyone. But if you can handle or enjoy dark humour, you will love this original wonder of a show.
Updated review (about season 2) I LOVED the first season of this show, especially the first few episodes - but I'm SIGNIFICANTLY less impressed with season 2. I'd rate season 1 as a 10 - and season 2 as maybe a 5 or 6. I just don't really care about the show this year, although I've been watching all the episodes - but 'the thrill is gone.'
Original review: (about the first season) I can't praise this gem any more highly. It's funny as heck. And it's got such a deliciously dark sense of humor. I love it. This certainly won't be everybody's cup of tea - but it's fun, fun, fun. I can't wait for next week. This show reminds me that Chris. M. can act, and the writers are pushing the limits with cutting edge edginess that they wouldn't even have tried getting past the censors even a few years ago. Don't let the 'imaginary' stuffed blue unicorn fool you - this is NOT for kids.
