Christopher Meloni and Patton Oswalt in Happy! (2017)

I can't believe they cancelled it. One of the best shows I've seen.

The show deserves a proper ending - season 3 or at least a one long episode/movie. It's dark, funny, crazy with some twists and great characters. Christopher Meloni is just amazing, I couldn't believe he could be that good. Hopefully someone wake up in Netflix or other network and make people happy with telling us the whole story of Happy and Nick Sax.

Wow, just wow. Chris Meloni does it again

First I want to say THIS SHOW IS NOT FOR KIDS. There are so many adjectives that can be used for this show. Sharp, witty, salty, blaring, heavy, abrasive, aggressive, evil, outrageous, repulsive, immoral, zany, amoral. I guess the best one to describe this show is insane. Christopher Meloni has played crazy very well in many roles but this is role is jaw droppingly awe inspiring. His new imaginary friend voiced by Patton Oswald is the perfect counterpart to Meloni's insanity. Christopher Fitzgerald and Patrick Fishler are absolutely amazing in their roles. Don't let the imaginary unicorn fool you, this show is brimming with originality. You will be laughing one moment and on the verge of vomiting the next. This is one of the weirdest and most disturbing shows I have ever seen. And I absolutely love it.

Wow. This is (was) brilliant

Updated review (about season 2) I LOVED the first season of this show, especially the first few episodes - but I'm SIGNIFICANTLY less impressed with season 2. I'd rate season 1 as a 10 - and season 2 as maybe a 5 or 6. I just don't really care about the show this year, although I've been watching all the episodes - but 'the thrill is gone.'

Original review: (about the first season) I can't praise this gem any more highly. It's funny as heck. And it's got such a deliciously dark sense of humor. I love it. This certainly won't be everybody's cup of tea - but it's fun, fun, fun. I can't wait for next week. This show reminds me that Chris. M. can act, and the writers are pushing the limits with cutting edge edginess that they wouldn't even have tried getting past the censors even a few years ago. Don't let the 'imaginary' stuffed blue unicorn fool you - this is NOT for kids.

Give us season 3 now

I love this show. It makes you laugh at inappropriate times and makes you feel for the characters. It is also incredibly acted. I want season 3 I support save happy on Twitter. I want to see this show again and everyone should watch it.

Wow! This is going to be a cult classic for sure.

I have only seen the first couple episodes of this show and it is awesome. It is hilarious on many levels. The acting is great. The writing is great. The violent, over the top action is great. The story is great. Patten Oswald is perfect as the imaginary friend. Christopher Meloni, the main character, is going to be remembered for this role the rest of his acting career. He plays his character perfect. Honestly, this has to be one of the best shows on television. I can't recall ever seeing another show like this, ever. Seriously. This is going to have a cult following for sure. Just watch the first episode and enjoy the ride into the absurdly, hilarious-violent-madness.

Nick Sax is the ultimate anti hero

This show would be solid even without happy in it. That little blue cupcake pooing fella definitely adds to it though. I generally don't like Patton Oswalt, he has one of those faces you just want to punch, but he does a great job as Happy. I guess it's easier to appreciate him when you don't have to look at him.

Meloni kills it and the crudity on this show is outrageous. Wishing someone would pick this back up.

My only criticism is Ritchie Coaster, he is trying too hard and doesn't have the chops to play the villainous role in this show. He tries too hard to be James Gandolfini with a hint of Christopher Walken. The noise he makes with his mouth before he talks a great deal of the time needs to go, if anything, his character is an annoying pest, not a mafia boss and 600 year old other worldly being.

Everything else is solid.

Lili is a great counterpart to Meloni's nut job character, Fischel kills it in his roll, Uber disturbing and the little girl who plays Hailey fills the role well and I don't think anybody would play Sunny Shine quite as perfectly as Fitzgerald, he fully thrust himself into and embraces his character.

For the type of show it is, I have to give it a high 9/10, but closer to 10/10. This show isn't for the faint of heart and is extremely crude and pushes the envelope in more than one way.

Kick back, grab some popcorn {maybe some ganja if it's legal where you're homestead is ;)}, get ready for a demented and slightly certifiable ride and binge the h-e-double hockey sticks out of this little perfectly tasteless gem on Netflix.

Good show

Good show, only sad that they cancelled it, if they knew earlier they got cancelled they could make a good ending with few extra episodes...

A series as entertaining as innovative.

An excellent series devoid of rationality and full of wacky characters, irreverent dialogues and bewildering twists. Happy, a blue flying unicorn, is the imaginary friend of Hailey Hansen who has just been kidnapped, among other children of the same age, by an ersatz of Santa Claus. His father, Nick Sax, a former cop and now a renowned hitman, has perpetually a hangover, no matter what. Happy will inform Nick of the tricky situation and they will together move heaven and earth in order to save Hailey. Christopher Meloni was born for this series as entertaining as innovative.

This is the funniest show I have seen in a long time!

Like others have said, this show is not for everyone. It's crude, dark, vile and nasty, but if you have a dark sense of humor, this is the funniest politically incorrect show I have seen in a long time. Keep in mind it was based on a comic, and the visuals feel like it jumped right off the page on to the screen.

Meloni craziness

Former super cop Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni) has fallen on hard times. He's suicidal and has becomes a hired killer. Mob goons try to kill him but Nick turns the table on them. He gets shot but also gets an important password. On the way to the hospital, he wakes up to see Happy! (Patton Oswalt), a flying blue horned horse. Happy tells him that he's the imaginary friend of little Hailey who is in danger and that she's his and Amanda Hansen's daughter. Meredith McCarthy is the investigating police detective.

Meloni has this loveable craziness which is very endearing. He's fun in this. I like the ridiculous buddy comedy aspect. The story does get confused at times. The craziness gets to be too much at times. This is not for everyone. It is out there and I like it. It lasted two seasons.

the best new show in years

This was brilliant! Bloody, hysterical & featuring Patton Oswalt as a blue unicorn. Chris Meloni is SUCH a great actor & this insanity is so me it's scary :)

Everyone with a warped dark twisted sense of humour, don't miss this gem <3

Innovative, creepy, funny

Season 1 was a unique show with quirky, funny, creepy, completely over the top blood and gore, and extremely entertaining.

Alas, season 2 was complete and utter dreck, which is why I only gave 6/10 to the show instead of a higher score. Watch the first season, but leave it there.

Not so happy with Season 2

Season 1 is a great example of American post-modern surrealistic shock- television. Loved the balance between the main character, Nick Sax, his interesting, crazy, post-traumatic perspective on life, his imaginary friend, Happy, and the other somewhat more normal characters. Our enjoyment of the show is anchored in Nick's POV. But this balance is all lost in Season 2. If everyone goes nuts, our appreciation of seeing the world differently through Nick's eyes is lost, and with it, the anchor point for the audience. Also, the escalation of graphic violence, which doesn't add anything to the story, actually distracts us from the story and reminds us we are watching a show.

If I was only rating Seaon 1, I would give it an 8.

Brilliant, original and funny

The trailer doesn't do this great show justice. This is a very refreshing, unique, compelling and hysterical show Iike nothing I've ever seen before. Christopher Meloni is perfect in what will become known as his best role ever. The subject matter is admittedly dark and creepy, so the show might not be for everyone. But if you can handle or enjoy dark humour, you will love this original wonder of a show.

Nothing gets better than this!

Season 1 was good but the way Season 2 came like bang-pow-bang. It takes someone to get really high to create something like this! It shouldn't be cancelled at any cost!!!!

Really good.

Really funny. I love this dark humour. I had a lot of fun watching this serie. Acting is good and even if there is a blue imaginary unicorn this is not a show for kids. Second season is good, but the first was better. I would have liked a third one.

Crazy, raunchy, crude, unimaginable, rude, great, hilarious

I was skeptical from the beginning scene, not sure what to expect. Was this a dark comedy or just crap? After 15 minutes I realized that this show is downright hilarious and gross and rude!!! Love it!!

Season 1 is one-of-a-kind, season 2 not so.

As much as I loved watching Season 1, the 2nd iteration just... lost everything.

Christopher Meloni, who's a fabulous actor, does a great job. And that's the point. Switching from a sympathetic anti hero to a meth head acting out a psychotic murder spree is just... disgusting.

Season 1 was a tale for adults. Season 2 is a mad man's erotic splatter dream.

9 out of 10 for Season 1

3 out of 10 for Season 2 - it's not only another show, it's simply a well crafted but abhorrent piece of splatter. Nothing to enjoy in it except one loves carnage.

Insanely brilliant

A drunk, drug-addled, violent ex-cop with no morals and even less self-restraint teams up with his 10 year old daughter's imaginary friend, a tiny blue unicorn from Zork, the capital of the cupcake kingdom.

Together they search New York for his daughter who has been kidnapped by evil Santa Claus.

Absolutely mental 🤣

Season one, great!

Season 2 was one wholly mess! Meloni trying way too hard to create the flavour of season one, and missing. A sad demise, I only watched a couple of episodes, that was enough.

season 1 was a 10, second was a dud

The second season was all over the place, unnecessarily graphic and odd. None of the elements I loved in the first season we well executed in the second. I had high hopes for season two. I'm super bummed.

Something Refreshing and Different - suitable for most !

I normally like light hearted comedies and sci fi / fantasy type programmes. I don't really like comic book based series or horror or gore or anything like that. However this has just enough of everything to satisfy everyone, but not so much that it would put off people like myself. It has just enough gore, just enough violence, just enough comedy, just enough drama, just enough sci-fi and fantasy and just enough comic book tales - combined with excellent acting, a great script and decent visuals - this makes this programme a great all rounder suitable for pretty much everyone.

It is weird and bonkers - after all it has a purple flying unicorn in it, but strangely compelling ! You can't help wanting to see how the story develops or wondering why things are as they are. As of episode 3, the backstories of the main characters begin to emerge and a few things start making sense, whilst others remain a complete mystery.

I am looking forward to seeing where this goes as it has the potential to be a winner !!
