Muoi: The Curse Returns

Really can't understand why a movie rating could be that badly justified, the reviewers is either didn't understand the movie or just some punk looking for some excitement from the movie. Mind you that i am not this movie production or some how related to this movie, I am from Malaysia.

After so many years that i only manage to watched this movie, vietnamese movie some how difficult to get in Malaysia on the past few years. I managed to watch it on Malaysia cable TV. After i watched the trailer, I already aimed to watch this movie as i see it was really beautifully made, is good production team with big budget. But after i saw the reviews on this movie, i was surprised that the ratings was bad. But instinct tell me this movie suppose to be good so i watched it since it is available & no extra charges. After watched it, i feel the reviews is not fair to it as the movie was good, atmosphere, cinematography, story pace overall was good. Good amount of scary scenes and a twist at the end. The twist at end really explain the whole movie which i think alot of ppl didn't understand it.

Overall i glad that i watch it and enjoy it, i gave 10 stars to it as i feel the previous ratings was not fair, the actual ratings that this movie deserve is around 7 to 8 stars i suppose. The director Hang Trinh did a really good job on this movie. From this movie, i only notice the actress Chi Pu, her acting was good, she only around 30 but look abit older n matured, only makeup make her look younger... Maybe the stress and rigorous in movie production made her that way.

The storyline is a bit flat and all things are jumbled up near the ending. Most of the things happened will be guessed by the viewers without an explanation that leads to the whole story. Things in the movie seem to be related but not related at the same time. The jump scare is quite okay but it doesn't create enough horror feeling that I expected. Maybe the title mislead me to think there's bigger event prior to the timeline in this movie so it increases my expectation. Acting wise, I think both girls did a very good job but the friend that being brought to the villa, seems not really into the character quite yet.

It is a cinematic disaster. The storyline is poorly written, and the characters lack depth or development. The acting is wooden, and the scares are non-existent. The horror scenes are not even remotely scary, and the movie fails to create any sense of tension or atmosphere.

The special effects are amateurish, and the makeup is laughable. The movie lacks any real substance, and it relies on cheap jump scares and predictable horror tropes to try and create a sense of terror.

Overall it is a forgettable film that is not worth the time or money. It lacks any real scares, a coherent plot, or engaging characters. If you're a fan of horror movies, then you should avoid this film at all costs.
