Frost Children’s music is thrillingly unpolished, and while the hyperpop duo—siblings Angel and Lulu—are in their 20s, their songs boast an alluring adolescent snottiness. They’re nostalgic for a time when Nickelodeon, Edm festivals, MySpace, and Vice magazine somehow felt like part of the same culture, before social media completely took over, but they approach this romanticized notion of the recent past without irony. Their sixth studio album, Sister, feels surprisingly innocent, curious and excited by technology rather than dazed and numbed by it.
The album brings a rock sensibility to Frost Children’s brand of dance music, with harsh sawtooth synthesizers and an overall abrasive velocity.

Sister Wives stars Kody Brown and Robyn Brown sound just awful as accusations fly about how they punished the other three wives if they said or did something they didn’t like while filming.
Christine Brown Woolley’s new book was due to hit the shelves in September. But an early release at some locations last week has fans already reading her memoir. And they report that Christine reveals some things we haven’t heard before or witnessed on the TLC series.

Merle Haggard was an escape artist.
The future country music legend broke out of juvenile hall and prison 17 times by his own count as a teenager and young man. But his greatest escape was getting out of Oildale, the hardscrabble town in California where he grew up, the son of refugees from the Dust Bowl in Oklahoma.
“Oildale is and has been struggling with real poverty, abject poverty. I mean, a lot of the roads aren’t paved,” observes Ethan Hawke, director of the Merle Haggard documentary Highway 99: A Double Album, which just premiered at the Telluride Film Festival. “There’s a lot of homeless, a lot of addiction. And you start to see that this guy pulled himself out of there without any help. He’s incarcerated from 14 to 23, grew up with virtually no education. Cate Blanchett is booked to lend her talents to the L.A. Phil in a surprising way.
The Oscar winner is confirmed to narrate four performances of Beethoven’s Egmont under the direction of music and artistic director Gustavo Dudamel in February 2026. Described as a “bold reimagining,” the production casts Blanchett as Egmont, a role that has traditionally been filled by a male narrator. Credit for the new take and the gender swap goes to Slave Play breakout Jeremy O. Harris.
The piece, set to feature soprano Elena Villalón, is said to tackle themes of resistance, freedom and heroism. It is part of a program that will open with the world premiere of Ricardo Lorenz’s Humboldt’s Nature, a work inspired by the South American expeditions of Alexander von Humboldt, the visionary philosopher and Beethoven contemporary, and also feature pianist Yunchan Lim performing Schumann’s masterful Piano Concerto.

Scroll through any list of the greatest achievements in American film, and Billy Wilder’s work is bound to show up. Arguably the most successful of Hollywood’s post-war émigrés, Austria-born Wilder built a reputation for razor-sharp screenplays in the 1930s before transitioning to the director’s chair.
His third film in America, “Double Indemnity” (1944), would prove to be his first masterpiece and the launching pad for the themes and ticks that would recur throughout his body of work. The man could tackle film noir, romantic comedy, war movies, farce, courtroom dramas, and everything in between. He imbued each genre with his trademark wit and a knack for taut storytelling, which resulted in hit after hit during Hollywood’s golden age.

John Malkovich has joined the cast of Apple TV+’s “Prodigies.”
Malkovich will guest star in the upcoming romantic comedy series, which stars Will Sharpe and Ayo Edebiri as two ex-child prodigies who have been together since they were children. Malkovich reunites with Edebiri after the pair starred in A24’s “Opus,” where Malkovich played ’90s pop superstar Alfred Moretti and Edebiri played journalist Ariel Ecton.
In addition to Sharpe and Edebiri, Malkovich joins “Prodigies” cast members Andrene Ward-Hammond, Yumi Asō, Tobias Menzies, Rina Sawayama, Sophia Di Martino, Reece Shearsmith, Nabhaan Rizwan, Meera Syal and Lolly Adefope.
Billed as an unusual take on a classic romantic comedy, “Prodigies” follows Didi (Edebiri) and Ren (Sharpe) in their early 30s as they start to question whether their very ordinary existence is living up to the extraordinary promise of their childhood, and, inevitably, they find themselves asking the same questions of their relationship,...

John Malkovich has been added to the cast of Apple TV+’s upcoming rom-com series “Prodigies” as a guest star.
“Prodigies” stars Ayo Edebiri as Didi and series creator Will Sharpe as Ren, who, per the official logline, “are two ex-child prodigies who have been together since they were children. Now in their early 30s, they are starting to question whether their very ordinary existence is living up to the extraordinary promise of their childhood. Inevitably, they find themselves asking the same questions of their relationship. As individual hopes and needs feed into and conflict with their shared lives, the series challenges the fallacy at the heart of romantic storytelling — that the tale is over when the heroes get together. In life, surely, that is just the beginning?”
Details about Malkovich’s character have not yet been announced.

It’s not too hard to push the nostalgia button for someone who grew up in the ‘90s. All you need to do is mention the Power Rangers or Pearl Jam, and their eyes will light up. The same goes for these four little letters: T-g-i-f. No matter how many mozzarella sticks they scarf down from the other TGIFs, for them, those letters in that order will immediately trigger the sound of Steve. Urkel’s distinct laugh or Michelle Tanner’s “You got it, dude!”

Colombian animation is hitting a fresh stride, driven by a mix of social storytelling, ancestral mythologies and new talent, plus determined governmental support.. That energy is on show at the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (Bam) in its Animation strand, set to be unveiled over July 14-18.
Common are stories spotlighting Afro-Colombian identity and Indigenous worldviews, like “Berenice y los Moravitas,” where an eight-year-old girl discovers her divine warrior heritage and “Verde,” a rotoscoped drama set in Colombia’s mangrove villages caught between violence and tradition.
Other projects tackle subjects from gender fluidity in “Negrites” to eco-activism in anarchic comedy “Sacha.” There also seem to be many with cats — both wild and domestic.
A strong presence at international co-production forums has been key to this momentum. Several titles have already paraded through top industry platforms such as Annecy’s MIFA, the Quirino Co-Pro Forum and Ventana Sur’s Animation! section, positioning Colombian...

Frost Children have released “Falling,” the next single from their upcoming third album Sister. Watch the Spring Breakers-inspired music video below.
“Falling’ is the double feeling of euphoric and melancholic, both of which seem to be glued together,” the sibling duo said. “The best part of dance is that you get to let go and leave whatever reality is in the shadows for a moment, and this song especially had that intention to feel like the euphoria was also an escape of something so real and so sad as your life falling apart in front of you, and wanting someone or something else to take that burden away and take you over.”

The Better Sister star Jessica Biel has opened up on the possibility of the series returning for a second season. Based on the novel by Alafair Burke, The Better Sister season 1 follows two estranged sisters, who reconnect after the murder of one of their husbands, who was also the ex-husband of the other. The cast of The Better Sister is led by Biel and Elizabeth Banks, who also served as executive producers, and despite the show being a miniseries, there could be scope for a second season.
Per Deadline, Biel revealed that she would be open to returning for a possible second season, but it would have to make sense for the story. She stated how she loved the experience of working on the show, and working with the cast and crew, and complimented the set. The Other Bennet Sister, the BBC and BritBox’s Jane Austen universe series, has added Ruth Jones, Richard E. Grant, and Indira Varma in major roles.
Jones (Gavin & Stacey) and Grant (Withnail & I) will co-star as Mr and Mrs Bennet in the adaptation of Janice Hadlow’s novel, which tells the story of Mary Bennet — the seemingly unremarkable and overlooked middle sister in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.
Housed at Doctor Who and Industry producer Bad Wolf, Game of Thrones star Varma and Richard Coyle (Heads of State) are set as Mr and Mrs Gardiner, Mary’s worldly aunt and uncle. Ella Bruccoleri (Bridgerton) leads the 10-part series as Mary Bennet. Filming is underway in Wales.

Sister Wives Season 19’s final episode is a doozy as Kody Brown, Robyn Brown, Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown Woolley continue their sit-down with Sukanya Krishnan. At one point, it is Robyn against Kody’s three ex-wives. The final words of this season get uncomfortable and maybe even ugly at times as the five Sister Wives spouses navigate their new lives and shake off their old one.
Sister Wives: Robyn Brown is Odd Wife Out…
The Sister Wives preview shows Robyn Brown as the odd one out when she goes up against what Meri, Janelle, and Christine have to say. Kody Brown is asked questions, but he deflects most of them and doesn’t respond to what Suki is looking for as an answer.
At one point, we will see Robyn stepping up and speaking about her husband, defending him. She’s not in agreement with what the other women say.

Even the Better Sister actors were surprised when they learned who did it, despite helping to realize the narrative.

In the emotionally charged world of Sister Wives, fan loyalty can shift in an instant—and Christine Brown is feeling the heat. Once celebrated for her candor and courage in leaving Kody Brown, she’s now being likened to none other than Robyn Brown, the show’s longtime lightning rod for fan frustration.
So what changed?
The tipping point came during the latest installment of the one-on-one interviews—those sit-downs where each cast member shares their side of the season’s drama with host Sukanya Krishnan.
Unlike group tell-alls of earlier seasons, these solo interviews are meant to draw out the unfiltered truth. But instead of applause, Christine’s recent comments stirred backlash.
The Meri Dilemma: A Missed Opportunity for Solidarity
Fans were particularly disheartened by Christine’s response when Kody confessed he had been afraid to tell Meri how he truly felt about their deteriorating relationship.

Three weeks after Skydance paused new spending on a series starring and executive produced by Jeremy Strong and written and executive produced by Tobias Lindholm and Frank Pugliese, the high-profile drama has been put on hold, sources tell Deadline.
The move comes as the regulatory approval process of Skydance‘s proposed $8 billion Paramount takeover continues to drag on.
Tentatively titled 9/12, the series was the first and so far only Skydance production budgeted against the new Skydance-Paramount deal. While new spending was paused earlier this month, 9/12 still had been targeting its originally planned August filming kickoff.
That involved a June start of pre-production. With no promising updates on the Skydance-Paramount deal front, pre-production will no longer commence next month.
According to sources, Skydance has been looking at an October alternative start date but that clashes with Strong’s commitment to the new Peter Morgan Netflix series The Boys From Brazil, which the Succession alum headlines.

In a TV studio on the banks of the Thames in London, a team of comedians are trying — and almost entirely failing — to get a laugh out of a gameshow audience.
It feels somewhat unsettling at first. Studio audiences aren’t usually the most comically discerning. But here, that’s the whole point. Each time an audience member so much as sniggers or sneezes, money is docked from a prize pot of £250,000, the slightest noise costing them up to £10,000 each time. Unfortunately for them, all 75 are on camera and mic’d up, with a team of stern-looking officials on the side monitoring fluctuating volume levels and ready to press a buzzer.
“Silence is Golden” — as it’s called — launches on UKTV on May 5. In something of a rarity, the format has already been sold to four other countries across Europe and Latin America before it’s even aired a single episode.

Hey Sister Wives fans, let’s talk about Robyn Brown in some darker scenes lately. The second half of Sister Wives Season 19 opened up something new for Robyn Brown. It seems the show stopped doing such heavy editing. In the past, the other wives seemed careful not to say anything to offend Robyn.

But that is not the case anymore, which leaves fans wondering if something happened behind the scenes. In the past, Kody Brown seemed to call the shots (to some extent) about what made it to the Sister Wives screen.

Will Sharpe and Ayo Edebiri are set to lead a new AppleTV+ rom-com, Prodigies.
Written and directed by Sharpe of The White Lotus and A Real Pain fame, the seven-part series also boasts Edebiri (The Bear) as an executive producer.
From Sister, the rom-com will explore the universal complexities of long-term relationships through the lens of “a very unique couple”.
“Didi (Edebiri) and Ren (Sharpe) are two ex-child prodigies who have been together since they were children,” a plot synopsis reads. “Now in their early 30s, they are starting to question whether their very ordinary existence is living up to the extraordinary promise of their childhood. Inevitably, they find themselves asking the same questions of their relationship. As individual hopes and needs feed into and conflict with their shared lives, the series challenges the fallacy at the heart of romantic storytelling — that the tale is over when the heroes get together.

The second season of 1923 must have set some record for the most misery endured by characters in a TV show.
While Season 1 had its ups and downs, Season 2 dials up the suffering as everyone faces situations many would not endure — and some characters don’t.
The unforgiving nature of the natural world, coupled with the human race’s never-ending greed, creates some of the most horrible situations.
(Lauren Smith/Paramount+)
It can be hard to watch others endure unimaginable horrors. For many, this can compound their general hopelessness in the face of uncontrollable situations.
The fact that we cannot fix most things, no matter how much we want to, is spiritually debilitating.
1923 Season 2 explores the struggles of these characters in the early 20th century, when people had less understanding of the world and society than they do today.
Death was the order of the day. If other people don’t get you,...

Nothing can get me through Hump Day quite like knowing One Chicago is waiting for me by the end of the night.
However, while I tune into all of the series, typically, it’s easy to prioritize Chicago Fire and Chicago Pd ahead over Chicago Med.
Watching the latter is more a form of habit while awaiting the real action. It’s never been a bad series; it’s just always fallen to third place — an appetizer ahead of the main courses if you will.
(George Burns, Jr/NBC)
But Chicago Med is having one of its best seasons thus far, so much so that it’s been beating out a surprisingly weak Chicago Fire season.
The series has found its stride this season with many of its characters. Those like Lenox have had a strong season, and her character development has made her more endearing than when she first appeared.

Sister Wives fans often talk about some bizarre stuff that has popped up in the background of TLC episodes. The stuff you can see that belongs to Kody Brown, Robyn Brown, and the others. We’ve seen some really weird things over the seasons.
Sister Wives: Intentional Blunders or Neglect?
Maybe the Sister Wives viewers were not supposed to see these strange things in the background. Or maybe they left things out on display intentionally. You know, maybe Kody and the women staged it so fans would have something to talk about. It is one way to keep them interested in seeing what’s going on in their lives.
It happened to all of the Sister Wives’ spouses, Kody, Meri Brown, Janelle, Robyn, and Christine Brown. So maybe it’s not a mistake that we see these things. Instead it is possible they planted the stuff there. After all, it...
