A must for all Sasha Alexander fans!

This is a small movie (read Independent) that delivers big time. This well written, well directed, well acted film shows that if you open your heart, love is there waiting to come in and fill it up.

Rhys Darby successfully blends humor with just enough klutz to make everyone fall in love with him.

Of course, the highlight of the film for me, is Sasha Alexander. This talented actress is as comfortable with humor as she is with Drama or action. Her portrayal of Alex is spot on. She is quirky, sexy and full of surprises.

You may just find yourself adding a new word to your vocabulary, I know I did.

Bad acting, implausable story line, flippant speech patterns, nned i go on?

Little more than a mindless soap opera--waste of time. Hollywood at its worst. Who made up this story line: and the cargo of illegal immigrants--not funny, not amnesty seekers, a dark scenario where coyotes or mobsters are trafficing them like animals--very dangerous and not to be glamorized by morons in films.]

How about GOING to the DVD store and COMING home with this nice romcom?

Dr. Lee (Rhys Darby) is a transplanted Brit and an OB-GYN working in the Los Angeles area. At work, he is very confident that he can provide excellent care to his patients and good bedside manner, too. But, away from the office or hospital, he is very shy around women. He makes blind dates and then becomes a no-show. His aunt, Irma, lives next door and worries very much about his future romantic happiness. One day, he has a fall and is confined to a wheelchair for a week. Wouldn't you know, a beautiful lady, Alex (Sasha Alexander) accidentally stumbles over him on a sidewalk, not watching where she is going, and a conversation ensues. For the first time in a great while, Lee can actually talk to a woman without hesitation, mostly because Alex takes an interest in him. Soon, they make arrangements to meet again but although Irma asks him to tell Alex the truth, Lee only feels confident that he has Alex's attention when he is seemingly disabled. This charade goes on quite awhile, with Alex admitting she wants to "date" Lee. Now what will he do? Meanwhile, Alex's sister and brother-in-law, a character on a children's show, are pregnant but is the baby the husband's or is the fetus' father the one "afternoon stand" wife had with a co-worker? Here are some problems two couples will have to work out indeed! This is a sweet and funny romcom that should please fans. Yes, it has a small bit of risqué material but, overall, is quite wonderful. (There is one scene involving a Chihuahua that will upset viewers, push the fast forward button). Darby is very funny, resembling Dudley Moore, and Alexander makes a beautiful love interest. All of the other cast members do fine work, too. This viewer also loved the nice costumes, sets, funny situations and well-paced direction. Having trouble finding any romantic comedies at the theater? Stroll over to the nearest DVD store and try to locate this one.

Good rainy day movie or stay at home Friday night flick

Rhys Darby's performance as Lee is very good in its believability of character and comic quirkiness. He convincingly plays a doctor who cannot seem to attract women and his shyness in putting himself out there to meet women seems genuine.

He meets Alex (Sasha Alexander) almost by accident: she nearly runs him over in a parking garage. He's been attracted to her for quite some time but never had the courage to even speak to her. The lovely Sasha Alexander subtly shows her acting chops here. Even the movie goer is convinced she finds him interesting because he's in a wheelchair and he cannot convince himself she's attracted to the person inside of him.

This is the perfect rainy day movie, or a lighthearted romantic comedy perfect for those Friday evenings at home. Don't miss it.

    Hilarious

    I simply adore this!!!

I read somewhere that this film was completed in less than a month? This is unbelievable when you take into account the high quality of the finished product! Coming & Going is such a well written movie, with an amazing & hilarious cast to compliment it further! I laughed pretty much from beginning to end, & I love it when something happens in a movie that you just don't see coming!!!

Rhys & Sasha were both outstanding in their roles, & I loved seeing the short cameo appearance from Edoardo!!

    Thumbs up to all involved!!
