I recently rewatched Bhoot and Friends as a 21-year-old, and it brought back so many memories. When the film was first released, I was just 7 years old-and at that time, I absolutely loved it. Watching it again now as an adult, I realize that judging it from a serious, adult perspective wouldn't be entirely fair. This film is clearly made for kids, and as a child, it really worked for me.
The movie has a good amount of humor that appeals to children, and the way the characters are introduced is also very well done. I especially appreciated the performances of the kids-Raghav and Ali stood out. Their acting felt natural and believable, which made it easy for young viewers to connect with them.
One part I really liked was how they introduced the diamond in the story. They used animation to explain it, which was a smart and engaging way to keep kids interested and help them understand the plot. That's one of the reasons I enjoyed the film so much as a child-it was exciting, funny, and easy to follow.
Even though the movie may not be perfect in terms of filmmaking, especially when viewed with an adult lens, it still holds up as a fun and imaginative children's film. It was made on a low budget, and you can tell, but that somehow adds to its charm. More than anything, rewatching it made me feel nostalgic. It reminded me of those carefree days of childhood, and for that reason, it will always be a special film for me.
So while I may not be the right person to critique it seriously now, I can say that Bhoot and Friends is a good children's movie with a strong sense of adventure and innocence. For me, it's a cult classic simply because it's tied so deeply to my childhood.
