Judging from the trailers, the upcoming Naked Gun reboot is seemingly going to be chock-full of references to the original movie trilogy, up to and including a brief, photographic cameo from late accused murderer/prank show auteur O.J. Simpson.
But will the new movie include an appearance from the one living celebrity who’s been in every other installment of the Naked Gun series and wasn’t married to Elvis?
As you may remember, early in 1988’s The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, Frank returns from his jurisdictionally-questionable trip to Beirut and discovers a crowd of reporters and fans waiting for him at the airport. But after addressing the spectators, Frank is informed that they’re actually there to greet his fellow passenger: “Weird Al” Yankovic.
The cameo came about because Yankovic was a huge fan of Police Squad!. “I still consider that my favorite TV series of all time,...

F1 recently released in theaters, with Brad Pitt’s Sonny Hayes quickly becoming an iconic character. With his magnetic, rough-and-tumble cowboy persona, Hayes turns around a dire situation for the fictional Apex Gp team in Formula One.
Pitt’s Hayes is easily one of the most talented and daring drivers in movies, having vast experience driving in the most adverse conditions. As a result, Hayes might be the best of the best, and we are certain he could defeat most of the popular movie drivers on this list, including one character who may just be his archrival. Here are the seven movie drivers Brad Pitt’s Sonny Hayes can beat in racing.

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise were fierce rivals earlier in their career, and their rivalry took a new turn with the release of F1, directed by Top Gun: Maverick helmer Joseph Kosinski. As a result, the two films have been frequently compared, especially because of their visual style and flamboyant lead characters.
While the Pitt-led movie is lacking in some departments when compared to one of Cruise’s biggest blockbusters, F1 is proving to be a tough competition at the box office. After its opening weekend, the motorsport racing movie has managed to edge out Cruise’s fighter pilot saga at the box office, proving it has what it takes to go the distance. Here is why F1 is holding its own despite being no Top Gun: Maverick.

F1 Movie Review Out (Photo Credit –Facebook)
What’s Good: The visuals are just really impressive, and every single race in the film feels like a huge event.
What’s Bad: The script is very bland in general, with tons of exposition and watered-down character development to fill the space between the races.
Loo Break: The film is, indeed, a bit overlong, so there are a couple of character scenes that could be missed on the way to the big racing moments.
Watch or Not?: Yes, this is a must-watch on the big screen, especially if you are a fan of racing or impressive visuals.
Language: English (with subtitles).
Available On: Theaters
Runtime: 156 Minutes.

Video games are a rather fascinating piece of media, largely thanks to their interactivity. This level of interaction is simply absent in alternative forms of media, and is what makes games unique. Naturally, this extends into game mechanics as well, many of which can be rather obtuse and often, remarkably ingenious too.
Unfortunately, many of these additions have proven to be one-trick ponies, much to the disappointment of many. These genius game mechanics never made their return to other titles, which would have otherwise resulted in a massively revamped experience.
Game mechanics we wish developers would add to modern games
You can find a list of the most popular video game mechanics that have either been lost to time or locked behind some asinine copyright wall that prevents them from being carried over to modern titles:

As jet engines are being prepared for a future sequel to Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise could be cooking up another highly anticipated legacy sequel. Days of Thunder, the NASCAR epic that reunited Cruise with Top Gun director Tony Scott in 1990, is also on the actor's radar. Jeff Gordon, who has known the Hollywood star for many years, ran into the Mission: Impossible star during the premiere of the latest film entry in the action franchise, and Cruise allegedly said to him, "We're doing Days of Thunder 2." Start up your engines, folks.
Gordon is a retired racer and one of the heads of Hendrick Motorsports, the prominent racing team with a history in NASCAR racing (the sport depicted in Days of Thunder). He spoke to Road & Track magazine about the importance of NASCAR and how it should be as popular as other motorsports like Formula 1.

Megan Fox Upcoming Movies 2025 (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Whether it’s her breakthrough performance as Mikaela in Transformers, the eerie charm of Jennifer’s Body, or her tough-as-nails role in Rogue, it isn’t easy to think of Megan Fox without instantly picturing one of her many iconic roles. Fox has demonstrated over the years that she can play a variety of roles, which makes her a dependable on-screen persona that viewers adore supporting. Since 2025 has already crossed its halfway point, fans are wondering what Megan Fox films are lined up next.
Megan Fox New Movies Coming Up?
Well, for now, sadly, Fox doesn’t have any feature films officially lined up for release in 2025. Her last project was Subservience, a sci-fi thriller that hit screens in 2024. Since then, she has been evidently missing from the big screens. But that doesn’t mean she’s disappeared from the spotlight entirely.

The Naked Gun trailer reveals Liam Neeson getting silly and meeting Pamela Anderson's femme fatale. After the late Leslie Nielsen starred as police detective Frank Drebin in the original Naked Gun trilogy from the 1980s to the 1990s, Liam Neeson is taking over the lead role in the upcoming Naked Gun reboot, playing his son, Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. The cast also includes Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser as Capt. Ed Hocken Jr., Cch Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddy Yu, and Danny Huston.
Now, Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer for The Naked Gun. It begins as if it's a trailer for one of Liam Neeson's action thrillers, such as Taken, before shifting to the style of slapstick comedy that Naked Gun is known for. After showcasing several more gags, the trailer reveals the reboot's basic premise, as Pamela Anderson's character, Beth, comes to Frank...

In the spiritual sequel to his legendary 2004 Victoria’s Secret commercial, Bob Dylan has provided narration for a new trailer announcing Machine Gun Kelly’s next album, Lost Americana.
“Lost Americana is a personal excavation of the American dream — a journey to find what’s been lost,” Dylan drawls in the short clip. He goes on to describe the album as “a love letter to those who seek to rediscover” and “a sonic map of forgotten places, a tribute to the spirit of reinvention, and a quest to reclaim the essence of American freedom.

Once upon a time on The Bold and the Beautiful, Luna appeared to be the embodiment of charm and innocence. Sweet smiles, polite manners, and soft-spoken tones made her an instant fan favorite. But somewhere along the glittering path of L.A. high society, Luna took a detour…and now we’re staring down a version of her that’s nearly unrecognizable.
From Golden Girl to Gun-Toting Menace
She’s not just morally gray—she’s criminally blacklisted. A killer with blood on her hands, a manipulator with zero remorse, and now a wild-eyed vigilante armed and dangerous? Say what you will about other B&b baddies, but Luna (Lisa Yamada) might be the most shocking transformation in recent soap history. Dollar Bill (Don Diamont), ever the king of misguided second chances, thought he could save her. He couldn’t. In fact, we’d argue his attempt only lit the fuse.

Tom Cruise’s Lowest Rotten Tomatoes Rated Movie ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning is currently playing in theatres worldwide. With an 80% Rotten Tomatoes score, the latest installment may be a solid entry, but it’s certainly not the best-rated film in the blockbuster franchise. That honour goes to Fallout, which boasts an outstanding 98% critics’ score. But you will be surprised to know that one of Tom Cruise’s most popular movies has a surprisingly low Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score. Can you guess which one?

Tom Hardy In MobLand Paramount+ Comeback (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Tom Hardy’s gritty crime series MobLand climbed back into the spotlight after vanishing from the Paramount+ charts for a few weeks. It pulled off a sharp turnaround as the show wrapped up its debut season and locked in the number two spot on the platform’s viewership rankings on June 2 and 3. This put the show ahead of every single title from Taylor Sheridan, who usually dominates the service with his growing list of hit dramas.
MobLand Outperforms Sheridan’s Biggest Paramount+ Hits
Sheridan’s shows like Yellowstone, Tulsa King, and 1883 have become Paramount+ mainstays. But for two days, MobLand grabbed more attention than any of them. It earned 231 points on June 3, while Tulsa King managed 176, and Yellowstone sat at 143, according to FlixPatrol. Even earlier in the season, MobLand was outscoring some of Sheridan’s spin offs like 1923 and 1883. However,...

Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise have already built a strong partnership over the last decade with Jack Reacher and four Mission: Impossible films. The pair are already eyeing up two more movies together, but McQuarrie recently revealed that a third film could be happening, and it would bring back one of Tom Cruise's most iconic characters. We're not talking about the return of Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible 9, or Maverick in the third Top Gun. McQuarrie and Cruise want to work on a sequel/spin-off to Tropic Thunder, meaning the return of Les Grossman!
Christopher McQuarrie recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast to promote Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, and he was asked about his upcoming projects with Tom Cruise. "The conversations we've had about Les Grossman are so f*cking funny," McQuarrie said when asked which of his upcoming movies with Cruise are the top priority.

When moviegoers fall madly in love with a film, at a certain point it's not enough just to watch it over and over again. They need to devour every morsel of trivia and every behind-the-scenes anecdote. They dive deep into the origins of the production, and speculate as to how the film might've played if different actors had been cast or a different director had been hired. They might even take the next step and tap out fan fiction, which can be quite profitable as E.L. James proved when her "Twilight" erotica became a publishing phenomenon called "Fifty Shades of Grey."
For those who don't have an S&m-infused novel about their favorite characters in them, the next step in heightening one's personal fan experience might be to visit the actual filming locations. If your favorite movie happens to be James Cameron's "Ghosts of the Abyss," I would strongly advise against this,...

It sounds as if Tom Cruise wants to play Cole Trickle again, as he namechecks a possible Days Of Thunder 2. More on the story here.
Tom Cruise is enjoying his victory lap for the Mission: Impossible saga, as his press tour for the incoming Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning takes him around the world. Given that the last few years have seen him primarily making two Mission: Impossible films and one Top Gun movie, it’s allowed time for a slate of projects to build up. He’s shot a film with Alejandro Iñárritu already, and is now mulling what his next blockbuster choice will be.
Talking to Today in Australia, he confirmed that he and writer/director Christopher McQuarrie are juggling a bunch of ideas. Also, understandably, he’s talking up a potential third Top Gun movie, which given the raging success of Top Gun: Maverick in 2022 seems almost a given.

The John Wickfranchise revolutionized the action genre with its signature "Gun-Fu" fighting style, but Jason Statham almost stole it a few years earlier. Beginning with the release of the eponymous film in 2014, the series tells the story of a retired assassin who is pressed back into action after criminals destroy his newfound happy life. Though the simple revenge plot has been done a million times before, it was director Chad Stahelski's blend of martial arts and gunplay that made the action sequences jump off the screen.
Naturally, a string of sequels followed in the ensuing decade, and John Wick has even been spun off into TV shows, and standalone films. Outside their obvious box-office appeal, the franchise is also important because its approach to action and stylized visuals have become the go-to for Hollywood cinema. Nearly every big-budget action film made since has borrowed the franchise's neon-drenched aesthetic and its approach to fight choreography.

When the great Leslie Nielsen made the media rounds in 1996, promoting his James Bond spoof, Spy Hard, everyone wanted to know one thing. Was he shocked when O.J. Simpson was arrested for murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and Ron Goldman, and did he think he was guilty? Ever the Canadian gent, Nielsen retired the ever-present fart machine he enjoyed using in interviews, and tried to give a thoughtful answer. Basically, he said that the Oj he knew on set from the three Naked Gun movies they did together never gave him an inkling that he would be capable of murder, although, to read between the lines of his answer, it was clear Nielsen likely had serious doubts as to his innocence.
Indeed, when The Naked Gun 33 1/3rd came out on March 18th 1994, no one who went to see it – and I was one of them – would have ever thought that three months later,...

Reports have confirmed the development of Top Gun 3, with Tom Cruise returning to his role as Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The previous film, Top Gun: Maverick, turned out to be the highest-grossing film in Cruise’s career. The film featured a bunch of young stars, many of whom went on to build a reputable career since the 2022 film.
A third film in the series would probably be incomplete without these young stars returning to their roles. However, bringing them would make the movie a very expensive affair, given their current star value. Cruise’s salary alone would be a massive cost for the film, as his reported salary for the second film was $100 million (via Variety).
While it took 36 years for the second movie to materialize, the third movie is expected to arrive very soon, offering a fitting conclusion to Cruise’s iconic character.

Top Gun 2 was released in 2022, and it was the sequel to Cruise’s breakthrough movie Top Gun, which came out three decades ago. Damson Idris is revving up for his biggest role yet. However, his road to co-starring with Brad Pitt in the upcoming F1 movie was anything but smooth. The British star isn’t afraid of challenges, but nothing could have prepared him for this. For most actors, an audition means memorizing lines, but for Idris, it meant surviving a real-life trial on a slick Formula 1 track.
The actor shared about the nerve-wracking audition that pushed him to the edge. Fast forward to 2025, he is now on the red carpet of the biggest fashion event, the Met Gala, in a Tommy Hilfiger suit and dramatic look.

For many seasons now, there has been underlying tension between the protagonists of Rick and Morty. Although the two characters have had a kind of banter throughout the series, it seems to have taken on a resentful tone from Morty’s side. This was first set up as far back as the first season, with the very first Citadel episode.
With the trailer for the eighth season having finally been released, it seems possible that the show will go down this storyline again. However, the direction it could be taking with Evil Morty could be very different this time.
A Morty always needs a Rick…or do they?
With the release of the eighth season approaching, Rick and Morty have finally released the trailer, and it is quite insightful. Among many hints about what is to come, two specific scenes felt out of place considering the overall story of the show.

"Top Gun" star Tom Cruise has a memorable big screen history with Val Kilmer. Not only did the two actors rise to fame in the 1980s, but they played rivals in the blockbuster air combat film that would eventually result in a sequel that gave them a heartfelt reunion. That sequel also served as a fond farewell for Kilmer, who had been suffering from throat cancer but still managed to make a wonderful appearance in "Top Gun: Maverick," where his previously cocky character Tom "Iceman" Kazansky was suffering from the same ailment as Kilmer in real life, eventually dying in the movie years before Kilmer would actually pass away in 2025.
However, Cruise and Kilmer almost had a much different "Top Gun" reunion on the small screen over two decades earlier, thanks to "Saturday Night Live."

The Marvel Cinematic Universe will introduce several films in 2025. It started with Captain America: Brave New World, and it will continue with the upcoming Thunderbolts* movie and, later, The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
The press tour for Thunderbolts* is currently underway as tickets are now on sale for the superhero movie. One of the featurettes for the film featured Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova performing a death-defying stunt, as Marvel detailed how they pulled off her jump from the second-tallest building in the world, the Merdeka 118 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Speaking with Fandango, Pugh said she had to personally convince Marvel boss Kevin Feige that she could do the stunt after the studio expressed concern about the insurance risk.

If awesomeness had a face, it would be wearing aviators and chomping on a toothpick – oh, wait, that was just Val Kilmer’s Iceman in Top Gun. As Maverick’s ultimate yet oh-so-charming rival, Iceman is just one of those characters you simply cannot forget. Of course, it also has to do with the fact that it was Val Kilmer himself who brought the iconic role to life. While we love Iceman, did you know that there was a time when the actor did not have any interest in playing him?
That’s right. Val Kilmer turned down the director, Tony Scott, when he first offered him the role. Things worked out for him, and he was soon scaling new heights. Then came Déjà Vu, where he had to beg Tony Scott to hire him for a role.

Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for The White Lotus Season 3
The third season of The White Lotus may not be its best but it certainly had some interesting elements. The social satire/black comedy focused on a new set of guests at the Thailand branch of the eponymous hotel, with the Jason Isaacs-headed Ratliff family having one of the more messed-up dynamics among other rich families of the show.
While the season ended with the Ratliff family being safe and sound, Timothy’s behavior and visions had fans speculating about his future actions for a hot minute. Among those speculations was the return of the poisonous fruit of the pong pong tree found in the resort. The infamous fruit reportedly has a dark history.

Many of us here at JoBlo were shaken up by the death of Val Kilmer. While his health had been fragile in recent years, he always seemed larger-than-life, and given how young he was (only sixty-five), many of us were in disbelief at the news. One of the most affecting moments for me happened this week at CinemaCon when Tom Cruise, his old co-star, paid tribute to him by requesting we all take a moment of silence.
Earlier this week we listed off ten of our favourite Val Kilmer roles (watch the video above), while Kier also dug into it on the Livestream. However, now it’s your chance to let us know what your favorite is. Take the poll below and let us know!

Comedian Leslie Nielsen brought so much delight and laughter to our lives with his works not only in comedy films but also in action, drama, and even fantasy movies. He had a career spanning over six decades and a legacy that still lives to this day. Liam Neeson’s upcoming film, The Naked Gun, is indeed a great tribute to the late star.
The loss of Nielsen left a massive dent in the Hollywood industry. He’s notably known for his deadpan comedy roles, and fans would agree that no one can do it like Nielsen.

The Naked Gun Official Trailer Is The Single Most Important Trailer Of The Year (And Maybe All-Time)
To kickstart their very Mission: Impossible focused CinemaCon presentation, Paramount first debuted the official trailer for their upcoming action-comedy The Naked Gun, a movie they are cheekily describing as "The single most important Naked Gun movie since the other Naked Gun movies."
It's a short teaser, featuring leading man Liam Neeson, as he intervenes during a bank heist, but you're going to have to just watch it to believe it. We also learn that he's playing Frank Drebin Jr., the son of Leslie Nielsen's Lt. Frank Drebin, who the film will honor and it seems like they'll do it in typical Naked Gun fashion.
The film will provide some much-needed humor to an action-packed summer, opening in the wake of Marvel Studios' The Fantastic Four: First Steps and opposite the animated sequel The Bad Guys 2 and the body horror film Together. It's likely Fantastic Four will repeat as the box office champ,...

Actor Val Kilmer passed away on April 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of an extremely well-received filmography. Kilmer appeared in blockbuster movies such as Top Gun and Batman Forever, seeing a meteoric rise in Hollywood during the 1990s.
However, in the 1980s, Kilmer was a bit of an unknown commodity, especially when he tested for the role of Paul Atreides. He was considered for David Lynch’s adaptation of Dune, long before Timothée Chalamet’s more modern take on the character.

Despite being a frontrunner for the role, Kilmer eventually lost to Kyle MacLachlan, who made his big-screen debut with the film. As a result, fans must be curious to know why Kilmer missed out, and reports alleged it was because of one facial feature. Here is everything you need to know about Val Kilmer’s audition for Dune.

Exclusive: Anthony Edwards and J. Smith-Cameron join Elizabeth Olsen and Cristin Milioti in the FX drama pilot Seven Sisters.
The project, from FX Productions, follows a large, tight-knit family that begins to unravel when a sister (Olsen) starts communicating with a voice no one else can hear, forcing them to confront long-buried secrets.
We hear that Edwards will portray family patriarch Paul Bosco and Smith-Cameron will portray his wife, Francesca, in series regular roles should the pilot get picked up to series. They join Milioti, who we revealed yesterday will portray Olsen’s character’s sister.
Seven Sisters is executive produced by Will Arbery, who wrote the pilot; Sean Durkin, who will direct it; and Garrett Basch. If the pilot goes forward, it would mark Basch’s fifth series for FX, where his company Dive has a long-standing first-look deal, following Devs, Reservation Dogs, What We Do in the Shadows...

Didn’t Val Kilmer want his role in Top Gun?(Photo Credit –Instagram)
“I didn’t want the part,” Val Kilmer admitted in his memoir, I’m Your Huckleberry (via Looper). “I didn’t care about the film. The story didn’t interest me.”
That didn’t matter. Hollywood had other plans. Even though Kilmer tried to tank his audition, reading his lines with zero enthusiasm, director Tony Scott still cast him as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky. Instead of walking away, Kilmer walked into one of the most iconic roles of his career.
Top Gun was all about Maverick. Tom Cruise’s Pete “Maverick” Mitchell was the hotshot pilot, and Anthony Edwards’ Goose was his ride-or-die co-pilot. But then came Iceman – Kilmer’s cool, calculated rival at the Navy’s elite fighter school. He saw Maverick’s recklessness as a liability, and the tension between them soared. By the end, though,...

Chicago Fire entered season 13 as a brand new firehouse. Well, the characters we know and love were still there, but there were a few crucial newcomers. There was Lizzy Novak (Jocelyn Hudon), there was Jack Damon (Michael Bradway), and of course, Chief Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney).
Novak has integrated herself seamlessly with the rest of Firehouse 51. The other two? Not so much. It's been a tough road for both Damon and Pascal, with the former getting transferred and the latter losing his wife in a car accident. Just when it felt like we had a grasp on both characters, though, the tables turned.
