Scott Adkins takes his high-flying kicks and is forced to use them the fighting ring again, but it turns out to be in an unlikely place… at a Pow camp behind enemy lines during World War II. The action star developed the story for Prisoner of War, which was previously called Death March. Independent distributor, Well Go USA, picked up the rights for the film and has now released the trailer. Adkins is likely best known for his character Yuri Boyka from the Undisputed sequels, but the martial artist has also popped up in films like Doctor Strange and John Wick: Chapter 4.
Adkins’ story was penned by scribe Marc Clebanoff. In the story, per Variety, “a British airman washes ashore after being ejected from his plane and becomes a prisoner in a Japanese-run Pow camp. While waiting to join the infamous Bataan death march, the airman is tortured by the...

"The Simpsons" is a show that's usually a slave to its status quo. Almost nobody in the series grows older and almost nobody's allowed to make major life changes that stick. This is part of why the special non-canon episodes, like the "Treehouse of Horror" specials or those occasional flashback/flashforward stories, are so fun; they're introducing change into a show that so rarely offers any.
But even though life in Springfield has stayed oddly static throughout the past 38 years, major events do happen. Sometimes a character we all know and love will die, and the characters will mourn their death for many seasons afterward. "The Simpsons" doesn't kill off quite as many established characters as some of its competitive shows like "Family Guy," but when they do kill someone off it tends to hit a lot harder. So, here's a list of all the significant deaths in "The Simpsons,...

John Wick star, and still the most underrated action icon fighting the good fight, Scott Adkins will bring his particular set of skills to World War II later this year. Operation Blood Hunt is the film we wanted after Dog Soldiers showed us all that werewolves and soldiers could be a great combination. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much in the way of followup at the time, the promised sequel never happened and anyone who saw Werewolves of the Third Reich would probably rather forget it. So we’ve had to wait until now for Brandon Slagle to take the standard war movie plot of an odd assortment of fighters sent on a mission behind enemy lines and some werewolves to serve as the villains. And when it works, Operation Blood Hunt is a lot of fun, unfortunately, it doesn’t always work.

Women’s History Month may be over, but that doesn’t mean that women aren’t leading many of Hulu’s top picks for April. The month begins with the premiere of Vanderpump Villa, a Hulu Original reality series that follows Lisa Vanderpump and the hand-selected staff members employed at her lavish French estate, Chateau Rosabelle. This next chapter in the Vanderpump saga is sure to be full of drama, decadence, and debauchery as the staff caters to Vanderpump, her wealthy guests, and their own desires.
Hulu Original Under the Bridge, based on the 1997 true-crime novel of the same name, also premieres this month. This limited series follows the investigation of Reena Virk’s disappearance –the fourteen-year-old left to meet some friends and never returned home. Starring Riley Keough and Academy Award nominee Lily Gladstone, Under the Bridge has all the makings of a true-crime hit. Rounding out this month,...

If you haven’t taken the leap to bundle Disney+ and Hulu, it might be time. Streaming is only getting more expensive and competitive, and the enticing bundle (which also includes ESPN) might be a version of cable TV, but it’s also just cost efficient. Disney+ and Hulu are so intertwined that their monthly listing updates come in the same email — and as such, we decided to compile them here for you in the same list.
Whether you have Disney+ or Hulu, or both (and the IndieWire staff has weighed on our favorites), each has its benefits. Disney has the family-friendly titles, the Star Wars and Marvel (new episodes of “The Bad Batch” and “X-Men: 97” continue through April), while Hulu is the place to catch FX originals and network episodes. Both streamers have the rights to distribute National Geographic titles, which are well worth exploring along with the rest of the library.

There are many action thrillers out there where the makers pay a lot of attention to making the film more gritty and hard-hitting than the competition and hence there is a noticeable shortage of attention when it comes to the pacing and the performances. William Kaufman doesn’t make that mistake in The Channel, which he co-wrote with Paul Reichelt. With realistic action sequences and decent performances, The Channel stands out as a well-executed action thriller. It has elements of the heist sub-genre, but the sincere attempt to make the story work is what actually kept me hooked.
The Channel‘s plot revolves around two brothers, Jamie and Mic, who plan a heist with their ex-marine crew. The brothers are polar opposites of each other. Jamie has a girlfriend and a young baby, Joan, while Mic is a hard-boiled criminal with only chaos and mayhem on his mind. Their brotherly...

Thrilling police chases, explosive shootouts, compelling characters, and riveting storylines are all elements that culminate into one of the most exhilarating and high octane sub-genres and movies out there, the bank heist movie. There are few genres that give audiences that 'rush' more than the heist genre. From legendary movies like Heat, the Ocean's quadrilogy, Den of Thieves, and more recently Michael Bay's Ambulance, this phenomenal subgenre is certainly a packed one, and holds some of the best movies and experiences in cinematic history.
Adding to the large roster of bank heist movies, is veteran action director William Kaufman's latest feature, The Channel. The Channel boasts everything that we love about the bank heist movie subgenre. Filled with visceral gun fights and shootouts and thrilling police chases, The Channel is a ton of fun. However, although marketed as a bank heist movie, isn't really about the heist.

Known for his explosive, low-budget action movies like One in the Chamber, The Hit List and Saints and Sinners just to name a few, action director William Kaufman recently sat down with MovieWeb to discuss his upcoming highly anticipated action flick The Channel. Joining Kaufman was one of the film's leads, Max Martini, who many may recognize from films like Michael Bay's 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, and Prime Video's Tender Bar.
Kaufman, despite his budget, has always delivered on the action, and The Channel is no different. However, what sets The Channel aside from Kaufman's previous work is that the film thrives in its characters. Particularly the brotherly relationship between the two main characters in a compelling and complex story of survival. The action doesn't disappoint and the performances from both Clayne Crawford and Max Martini are astounding.
