I had never heard about this 2024 movie titled "Operation Blood Hunt" prior to sitting down and watching it here in 2025. But with it being a horror movie that I hadn't already seen, and a werewolf movie at that, of course I had to check out the movie.
The movie started out quite nicely, and actually was surprisingly interesting. But that quickly changed for the worse. After a very intense and enjoyable beginning, the movie sort of settled into a monotonous slump and never really recovered from that. Writer Brandon Slagle put together a generic script, and a somewhat mundane narrative for director Louis Mandylor to bring to the screen. Sure, it was watchable for what it was, but don't get your expectations up too high.
The acting performances in the movie were fair. I was only familiar with Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Louis Mandylor, the former whom had a way too small part to play, because his talents were wasted in this movie.
Visually, then I will say that the movie was adequate. Some of the werewolf effects were good, but some also looked somewhat fake. In general, I will say that the special effects in the movie were good.
Watchable, particularly if you are a diehard werewolf fan. But otherwise it might be a somewhat bland viewing experience. While I did manage to sit through the entire movie, I can honestly say that I am not returning to watch it a second time.
My rating of "Operation Blood Hunt" lands on a four out of ten stars.
