Akatsuki Games just launched “extreme action-rpg” Tribe Nine on February 20, but a date is already in place for the shutdown. The publisher and developer announced plans to end service for the free-to-play game on November 27. The shutdown announcement means that previously-announced updates—including new playable characters and chapter 4 of the story—will not be released. Tribe Nine is currently available on iOS, Android and PC via Steam. Planned playable characters that have now been canceled include Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba. Paid in-game currency sales have also ceased as of May 14. It's been a long wind-up for the Tribe Nine action role-playing game since its announcement in 2021, but the Akatsuki Games and Too Kyo Games-developed PC and mobile title looks like it'll be knocking it out of the park in a brand-new trailer and main visual released today. In the anime Tribe Nine, roving bands of baseball players face one another extreme version of the sport. For the show's English dub, distributor Funimation decided to give one of the titular tribes a star-powered lineup. Top streamers Corpse Husband, Disguised Toast, Sykkuno, and Valkyrae have voice roles in the series, with the latter three creators teaming up as members of the Hannya tribe.

12 episodes of Tribe Nine's English dub are available through Funimation, and most of the featured creators appear in the 11th installment.
