This is such a bad show and the fact it set in prison with the inmates makes even more trashy! One has to question how a film crew could get in to film this! Run don't walk from this train wreck of trash TV show!
It's alright for the type of show it is. I liked the other Jailbirds more. Why is it only three episodes though... I might have liked it more if I got to see more..
Megan might of killed someone but she could stab my heart. The thickness thou lol. I'm mad it's only 3 episodes but it's good show. It's weird to see how the officers give 2nd and 3rd chances to the trouble makers. I guess that's just how women's jails are. It's a good watch.
Jailbirds New Orleans is the kind of documentary that will or entertain you a lot, or that you will hate to see. You can count me in the persons that love that kind of stuff. Lyckily I never had kids, and I never will, but if I had kids I would make them watch this if I saw they were going the wrong way in life. Watching the jailbirds arguing like thirteen year old teenage girls about the most pathetic things, it's the perfect example what drugs can lead to. The before and after pictures from some of the inmates are speaking for themselves. From once a decent girl to a toothless finger missing lowlife, it's only a couple steps away. American prisons are just a mess, where there is almost no chance of rehabilitation, and this documentary shows it well. The privatization of those prisons is the worst thing to do. It's all a money making business, where they are absolutely not interested in the reintegration and education of their inmates. It's thrash tv but the kind I like to watch. It's sad but it also makes you realize how lucky we can be in life.
I watched this before the original even though I like Prison Docuseries. They aren't truly documantaries but they do give you some insight into what jail is like. It also shows you the darker side of human nature.
The big drawback is that there are only three episodes and the last one ends just as a fight breaks out. If you haven't already watch the original and skip this. The last one kinda ends in a weird place too but you get more episodes to get to know what it actually happening before it ends.

- TriviaOn February 3rd 2020 the crew was allowed to start filming in the Orleans jail under strict legal terms and conditions which were due to the fact that the shows predecessor "Jailbirds" was met with many issues and criticisms from lawyers and inmates. However these terms and conditions went unheeded by the production company and the same issue's continued to take place at the OPSO (Orleans Parish Sheriff's Office) facility. Inmates were allowed to incriminate themselves on camera with no lawyer(s) present, it was understood that rule violations caught on camera would go unpunished and worst of all, guards would not intervene with on going fights for long periods of time so that the producers could get ample footage of the fights. during a scene at the end of the series guards can be scene standing in the background of a fight not intervening and doing their best to stay out of the way of the cameras, this would be the last scene in the series as immediately after this the crew was thrown out with the OPSO jail claiming breech of contract. The crew left on March 5th 2020, just 32 days in to what had been a 90 day contract
