The pointless and boring series continues with Magnum always breaking every law because he is stupid and incompetent. Katsumoto has to cover for him in every episode, and Higgins has to explain everything to Magnum as if he never got past grade school.

The only thing that this Magnum remake gets right is that Magnum is always taking advantage of his friends and not paying his way. That is the only thing I never liked about the original Magnum, and even less about the new dummy version of Magnum.

I agree with the previous review from Brian but gave it a 7 instead of a 9 because the DBD ( Dirt bag Doctor that ruined half of the Magnum season 4 for me was still in the show ) - I can't wait for that terrible romantic loop for Higgins is over and Magnum and Higgins can realize they are meant for each other - that would make season 5 a 10 in my book. As for the 1st episode - it sets up the possibility of a great season with MI 6 and Higgins doing some strange things - although the reason for her exit from Kenya and MI 6 involvement in the vaccine wasn't made real clear - the result was satisfying. As for Magnum's secret romance - I like the gal and I expect she will realize before Magnum that Higgins is who he belongs with - that might not take too long . Having said that - hope she stays with the show . I have my fingers crossed that the producers and show runners don't blind side the possibility of a great season by over thinking - like When Calls the Heart did - a 10 show dropped to a 1 in less than 15 minutes of the season final last year - not just my opinion - the backlash was brutal.

I'm normally hard on remakes, but CBS has actually done a very good job with Magnum. The chemistry between Jay & Perdita just keeps getting better. I also love the addition of the character Lia.

I've been watching since. Episode 1 of season 1. I haven't been disappointed yet. This season has the opportunity to be the best one yet. I can see it going a few different ways. Just like with Hawaii 5-0 CBS has done a good job with Magnum. LOVED episode 1!!

This episode was bliss on the ears as Higgins didn't feature very much. I didn't have to put up with her constant whining, arguing and I'm better than you and more superior. It gets tiresome when every conversation has her always arguing the point and bickering.
