Chantal Thuy is a Canadian actress born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She is fluent in English, French and Vietnamese. In 2020, Thuy was cast as a series regular on the DC Comics television series "Black Lightning" in the role of Grace Choi, which ran for four seasons on The CW. She then played the role of Det. Lia Kaleo, Magnum's new love interest, in season 4 of the hit CBS show "Magnum P.I.".
In 2024, Thuy was nominated and won a Canadian Screen Award for Best Supporting Role in a Drama for her portrayal of "Nguyen" in the Quebec film "RU". Directed by Charles-Olivier Michaud, the film is based on a bestselling book by Vietnamese Canadian author Kim Thúy and had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
On stage, Thuy made her Broadway debut in Tracy Letts' play "Linda Vista", alongside the Steppenwolf Theatre ensemble at the Helen Hayes Theatre. She reprised the role of Minnie Tran, previously performed at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
Thuy is a graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York City and resides between Los Angeles and Montreal.
