    Pale Cocoon

An OVA that has an interesting approach through its social critique, establishing a very clear reflective message, but which falls short due to the lack of impact in its execution.

"Pale Cocoon" is a short film that dazzles with its animation and high level of detail, providing that focus on a post-apocalyptic world drowned in technology and the search for it. It has enormous potential that unfortunately was not fully realized, resulting in a good but not excellent anime. The essence of Yasuhiro Yoshiura is evident, and once again he delivered decent work, but it doesn't have the required impact.

The animation is very good, the color tones, the play of light and shadow, the designs, the movement sequences, the level of detail in each frame, and those structures are visually brilliant. The musical score has its merits, but it could have been better.

Perhaps a better argument was needed to establish a stronger connection with the viewers, as at times it has considerable lows. The importance of the characters may not come through due to the aforementioned. Moreover, more information is needed about this world in destruction.

Within his reflective messages, we have topics such as the importance of research, technology, the limits of the human being, survival, the past, the acquisition of knowledge, excessive curiosity, lack of communication, the recognition of information for better decisions and/or solutions, among others.

    Homogeneous, still?....

I guess 500 years from now Japanese people will be the only ones left of the human race. Dull, tunnel-visioned (idea), implausible. Further more, a "short" is either suppose to make a point at least half way through the experience, or go out with a bang. This nonsense did neither.
