This was a pretty good series but dragged on. You never really knew why they were after the prisoner and then it ended without you knowing anymore than when the series started. Plus, there is no word that there will be a season 2 to clear all the confusion up. If I had known how they were going to leave the ending, I would have waited to see if there was a season 2 and watch both together.
Web series review: The Longest Night streaming on Netflix

This psychological thriller starts off very well with a serial killer being finally apprehended after a string of heinous murders commited by him.
But apparently he has some friends in high places who don't want him speaking to the judge the next morning, as he is a treasure trove of secrets which can make a lot of important people uncomfortable.
So the police convoy escorting him is diverted for a night to a phychiatric institution housing a lot of loony characters. Then begins a cat and mouse game between the ill-equipped security guards at the institution and a gang of mercenaries sent to free him.
Seems like a good plot, but hey .. prepare to be surprised ...boo hoo🙂 Disappointed that this one long night which drags on for 6 long episodes, all for the story to not wrap up at the end. Not the greatest of execution by the makers. Too many sub plots and no conclusive ending make you feel really frustrated.
There is sure to be a second season coming soon which might probably give us some answers to the happenings in season 1.
So friends.. my recommendation will be to skip this for now and watch seasons 1 and 2 together when season 2 streams on Netflix.
Not rating this for now as it wudnt be fair till we get the entire story in season 2 .... Adios 🙂

It is definitely watchable with the episodes lasting in average 40 minutes but there are just too many unbelievable situations to swallow.
Also, super annoying main protagonist, Hugo.
I did not care for any of them.

I see alot of people given this a one star. The set up and tension throughout the action scenes is intense. It is well made and written well to keep a mystery going. I think the ending could of been a bit better. Also some characters removed. Foreign movies have a different at syle to them.
Getting over the utter implausibility of the plot is the only way to be able to watch and enjoy this. And I have to say I enjoyed it over period of 24 hours during which I watched the lot. What helps is that Alberto Ammann playing Hugo Roca is such a hunk.
Put aside the identities of the attackers and the utter impossibility of a prison being cut off and besieged with no one in the world noticing and one can lose oneself in the profound deliciousness of wondering what the writers will have us accept next.
Much has been said about the inconclusive ending. I can't believe there won't be another season - there are far too many loose ends to clear up. This could have been resolved with the addition of a couple of episodes but as the producers stopped at just six this strongly indicates to me that there will be more to come next year. I can think of ways that the new season could be stretched to six more episodes.
When it comes I'll be watching.
