Some parts were interesting but the series really fail in the end..
Without spoiling it, you'll be disappointed.. all in all well made production and acting, the story execution could've been better though..
This was a pretty good series but dragged on. You never really knew why they were after the prisoner and then it ended without you knowing anymore than when the series started. Plus, there is no word that there will be a season 2 to clear all the confusion up. If I had known how they were going to leave the ending, I would have waited to see if there was a season 2 and watch both together.

Getting over the utter implausibility of the plot is the only way to be able to watch and enjoy this. And I have to say I enjoyed it over period of 24 hours during which I watched the lot. What helps is that Alberto Ammann playing Hugo Roca is such a hunk.
Put aside the identities of the attackers and the utter impossibility of a prison being cut off and besieged with no one in the world noticing and one can lose oneself in the profound deliciousness of wondering what the writers will have us accept next.
Much has been said about the inconclusive ending. I can't believe there won't be another season - there are far too many loose ends to clear up. This could have been resolved with the addition of a couple of episodes but as the producers stopped at just six this strongly indicates to me that there will be more to come next year. I can think of ways that the new season could be stretched to six more episodes.
When it comes I'll be watching.

It is definitely watchable with the episodes lasting in average 40 minutes but there are just too many unbelievable situations to swallow.
Also, super annoying main protagonist, Hugo.
I did not care for any of them.

Of course this good series is inspired from something else. Maybe too much. It could have been grittier, more violent, with less psychological elements and especially a different ending; why this one which leads to nowhere? It is frustrating at the most. And I think that a simple long movie would have been better. Here, it is too much, we rapidly lose interest as it proceeds after second or third season. Too many things. Too complex. It becomes a fashion, that's the problem. MONEY HEIST in a jail, with something from ASSAULT....

This should have been over in 60 minutes instead of 6 episodes. The ridiculous plot holes were apparent enough for a 3ed-grader to question them.
A completely incoherent ending tops off this jumbled mess.

I see a lot of reviews saying the Longest Night is "unrealistic".. so is Game of Thrones, so is Hannah, so is every single James Bond movie ever madeor Jon Wick. It doesn't stop them being great television.
Yes, its far fetched and obviously has no basis in truth. But its got good pacing, it explores selected characters to a decent degree, and overall its a fun watch.
Oh, and If you don't like "dubbing" simply watch it in Spanish with subtitles on. Like any non-english show it is far better watched in original language with subtitles if you need them.

I read a lot of negative reviews before deciding to give it a watch. Sure, this has it's issues. But overall it holds up. I think it takes a great premise, and executes it as best as was possible; which may or may not be up to some people's standards.
I think they overcomplicated the plot and the characters in a way that takes away from a show this size. Many of the supporting characters are far more interesting than the primary roles, save for maybe Simon.
Honestly I would like to see this concept remade. It's like Hannibal Lector meets Assault on Precinct 13. What a wonderful pairing of thriller themes.

They expanded the scenes to 6 episodes. The could have done it in 1 episode. There is no ending.
This is the worst tv show i've ever seen. Wast of time.

Very entertaining show. I wish they wouldn't have cut the season into 2 parts, but definitely looking forward to the conclusion. Many seem to think it ended like that but it was just that they cut the season in 2 like Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Money Heist and many others.
I see alot of people given this a one star. The set up and tension throughout the action scenes is intense. It is well made and written well to keep a mystery going. I think the ending could of been a bit better. Also some characters removed. Foreign movies have a different at syle to them.
Web series review: The Longest Night streaming on Netflix

This psychological thriller starts off very well with a serial killer being finally apprehended after a string of heinous murders commited by him.
But apparently he has some friends in high places who don't want him speaking to the judge the next morning, as he is a treasure trove of secrets which can make a lot of important people uncomfortable.
So the police convoy escorting him is diverted for a night to a phychiatric institution housing a lot of loony characters. Then begins a cat and mouse game between the ill-equipped security guards at the institution and a gang of mercenaries sent to free him.
Seems like a good plot, but hey .. prepare to be surprised ...boo hoo🙂 Disappointed that this one long night which drags on for 6 long episodes, all for the story to not wrap up at the end. Not the greatest of execution by the makers. Too many sub plots and no conclusive ending make you feel really frustrated.
There is sure to be a second season coming soon which might probably give us some answers to the happenings in season 1.
So friends.. my recommendation will be to skip this for now and watch seasons 1 and 2 together when season 2 streams on Netflix.
Not rating this for now as it wudnt be fair till we get the entire story in season 2 .... Adios 🙂

No pun intended - and no the song is not in the show ... well yet. Because while this is tagged/named Mini Series, the ending is quite open to say the least. I actually expect there to be either a second season or another Mini Series. If either is the case, I might add to my overall rating.
A heads up of sorts, because as it is, the show has a very unpleasant ending. If you can even call it that. On the other hand, we have a lot of cliches that are woven into the show. And there is something that I was thinking while I was watching the show. You could make direct connection from Die Hard to this. You have the protagonist who has marriage issues, it is not just winter time but Christmas too and everything plays inside one building where the bad guys try to .. well do what bad guys do.
Of course while you could (or I could in this case) make the ... well case for it, there are quite a few differences too. Bruce WIllis was alone - and while our main character seems to be alone too (at least when it comes to what he knows and what his own goal has to be within the story), he has quite a lot of help.
You could and some seem to have critisized the main character for his moral decisions and for his willingness to put so many lifes on the line ... for one other life (pun intended and you could argue that it is two I reckon).
The suspense works more than well, the acting is good ... and the reveals keep on coming ... even in the last episode ... where it made me think: But this is the end ... how can this be? Well I can't answer that for you ... still there is more than something here - if you suspend your disbelief.

Whoever wrote the script was drunk. Makes no sense. Waste of good actors! It's been a whole since I've watched a bad series like this one. Not recommended for anyone with taste.

OK, maybe is unrealistic, but is very entertaining. Spanish series have showed alreday a great level. The plot has a lot of action, deaths (too many) and short stories.

Spanish series with English dubbing. Similar to the movie assault on prescient 13 but set in a psychiatric prison/facility. As people said not believable but I don't expect. Series was engaging but seemed to drag on a bit. The ending could have been ALOT better because if they don't sign another season then this season is pointless.

Where do I begin , Spanish movies and series have started a trend with the batman Voice. Every character even the women talk with a low batman Voice. This means you can't gauge the the scene. This series does the same. Now let's begin with the similarities AIP13 was on New year's this series is the same. A group of armed men try to take over the prison because of a convict the same here. They just milked this in to 6 episodes. Added some drama. Acting was terrible the main character Hugo looks like he's from a pantomime. Many mistakes made no surprise you can tell what's going to happen and who will betray who. Avoid avoid avoid. Only Spanish people will vote for this because they need to justify Spanish cinema and TV.
It lacks of common logic and it has many plot holes. It could been easily 1-hour movie instead of show with 6 episodes. The ending is awful and I do NOT recommend it to people that want to watch something good. Don't waste your time like I did.
