I loved it. I love the dark humor and the music. I thought the 2 sisters are very good actresses and have great chemistry. I love how they are sisters in real life.
I found this show by chance on AMC and absolutely love it. The dry, subtle humor of this show is fantastic. I love the scenes with the twin sisters making jokes at each other's expense because it actually feels real, as in jabs they would say to each other in real life. The show does a nice job of balancing the sadness of death while remaining compassionate and funny. Although the plot and characters are completely different from the British version of 'Ghosts' there's something about 'Good Grief' that reminds me of it. The supporting characters add a nice bit of quirkiness to the show but the main characters, Ellie and Gwen, make this show one of my favorites.
The best production to come from NZ in a long time !
Being Aussie, I don't usually enjoy NZ TV.
However, this has a good neutral tone that works for any English-speaking country, it could have been in country England or South Coast Australia. They got the balance SO right in this series !!! Not at all over the top, nor completely insular for just NZ spectators.
I could not get enough of this series and was sad that there were only 6 episodes in Season 1.
The cast and their acting do their characters so well. I do hope all of them return.
The narrative plot was fabulous, in a relatable dark comedy way.
The setting of the Mise-en-scène is perfect.
This is one series that I really hope attains more future funding, I cannot wait for season 2.
The cast, writers, and the team should be exceedingly proud because it is good material.
Funny, Dark, Witty, Brilliant.
They honestly balanced everything so well !!! WELL DONE 😊

I watched this a few years ago and will be rewatching with one of my sisters soon. I love the way this series portrays sibling relationships- it's very accurate. The way the sisters relate to each other mirrors real life - the fights and the consequent pleas for forgiveness and the different views of responsibility. It also depicts the typical roles each family member fulfills, with one character being the responsible one and another character following her dreams without much regard to family.
When I first started watching it I didn't realize that the two sisters in the show are actually sisters in real life. But after watching a few episodes, I thought to myself that the way they treated each other was so much like my sisters and me. I looked it up and discovered that they actually are sisters irl! This show is hilarious!! Highly recommend!

Have not laughed out loud so much at a TV show in years. Every episode there was a "hit pause" after laughing to collect myself. This is a brilliant, original show with great heart and inventiveness. Loved the characters, the cast and their chemistry. There's never been a funeral home with so much life. Beautifully shot and filled with Kiwi humor, Maori culture and actors, and quirkiness. Sisters Eve and Grace Palmer, the stars and writers, are powers to be reckoned with. As a fan of Jonathan Winters' (another comic great) "The Loved One" (1965), here's a lighthearted take, never mind the setting (funeral homes may be off-putting to some, but no worries here). Season 2 just finished here in the U. S. Hope for many more seasons, please! Brava!! Truly one of the best shows of the year we have streamed in 2022.
