I had zero expectations when I watched this little Indy film. I have a strong appreciation for horror & suspense films, but I hate over the top torture films.
I was so glad this wasn't that. The story follows a few woman that are kidnapped and chained together in a house. There is a lot of suspense and psychological tensions throughout the film. The acting is solid and the production value is strong.
A lot of the film is shot in Philly and I found the story line to be very original. So many films if they aren't fast and furious for most of the film, fall off the radar and people don't give them a chance. This film really needs to be viewed from start to finish to appreciate it.

It does keep you guessing right up until the end, because the end is a complete surprise you didn't see coming. There are some things that bothered me about the movie. The acting was a little forced at times, kind of like a bad TV movie. There wasn't enough depth to the characters, or the villain. And why didn't the three girls fight harder, I saw opportunities early on they could have exploited. Why did he do what he did? The Movie alludes to it but doesn't really say. The Hooks in the concrete basement floor the girls were chained to were obviously there for a long time. Had he been abducting women for a long time? Or was it something to do with the villain's mother?
Later in the movie Callie finds two little green toy soldiers that boys play with hidden in a crack next to her Chain hook in the concrete? Was the villain chained there as a kid, perhaps by his mother because he was "bad"? The upstairs of the house has an old feel to it...the furniture, the decorations. It almost looks like he's living in his mother's house, but you never see the mother. It did leave me with those questions, I felt like it could have been better with a little more back story and depth. But it wasn't all lacking, the plot and the girls kept me intrigued. Wanting to know more and see where it all ended up. And the end is a complete surprise, good one there!
From what I could find out this is a very young Indie film outfit with this being their first Major full length feature movie. Given all that, I'd say it was pretty good. In fact I'd say they would be ones to watch in the near future as they hone their craft and produce better and better movies.
So, yes, it's worth a watch.

The idea and premise around this movie was good. There was some excellent character development and realistic story writing regarding a very difficult subject matter.
Some parts were a little bit unrealistic when it came to dialog and some of the character relationships which made the movie seem a bit amateur.
I do like how the director did not tip toe around to what is likely to happen when women are held captive in some basement of a sicko.
It would have been nice to give a little more character development around the antagonist or perhaps provide a little more of a backstory to why he became a monster.
All in all this is like a lower quality but better written Lifetime movie.

This movie is by far better than these very bad reviews you're seeing. It is definitely an independent movie but in the absolute best way possible. The story is unique, the acting is genuine and the characters are captivating. You really get sucked in right away and you feel like you know the people you're watching. The story is told beautifully, I appreciate that they focus on the women and not the bad guy. It's refreshing to have a woman writer for once and it shows. AND THE TWIST! Wow, I really did not see that coming. Seriously it is totally worth the watch! And who doesn't like to support independent artists right?
What a nice, solid, gritty, low-key-thriller. I say "low-key" because the whole story just has this all encompassing ominous sense of dread throughout; it's like the filmmakers are saying "the world is a a nasty, bad stuff happens every day and this is just one of those stories." Nice production values and cinematography. One thing that really stood out for me was how well-developed the three female leads are, they could have easily been stereotypical one dimensional victims. Instead, the film does a impressive job of reminding the audience that these characters could be your sister or your girlfriend and this could happen to them.
