For a first and completely independent movie, its decent.

Being a fan of Shawn and MJ I just had to check this movie out, unfortunately after I had watched The Caged Girl? I was greatly disappointed. I understand this movies budget was next to nothing, I also understand there's no real acting experience between the cast and only by understanding this can you appreciate this movie.

One of the few memorable scenes in this movie include the Shawn bathroom scene, I think Shawn really had guts to be able to strip down and show no hesitation or fear in front of the camera. Believe me this is the only scene I can remember in great detail, bearing in mind the last time I seen this flick was about half a year ago. The acting was rather good in that one scene.

I remember on the occasion MJ Kelly looked and sounded like Heath Ledgers joker from The Dark Knight, this is of course no problem, everybody must be inspired by somebody its just this appeared so obvious to me.

The music in this movie was well timed and fitted in perfectly, the introduction scene with MJ Kelly gazing out of the window to see the girl of his dreams, it was very well done.

My only suggestions for improvement would be for: - MJ to act in his own unique way and not try to fall in to the Joker category. - A larger cast. - Less humour. - Longer running time. (It's more of a short movie)

To conclude I respect Shawn and MJ's efforts however The Caged Girl? could have been so much better. If this movie had a slightly larger cast and better acting it probably would become TV worthy but as it stands at the moment its nothing more than your average "Made for You Tube" flick.

3/10 (Its a half decent flick, nothing more, a little boring)

A Fun Way to Spend 20 Minutes

Shawn C. Phillips and M.J. Kelley are two rather well know reviewers on youtube who make comedic reviews of films, sometimes beginning with a parody, under the persona Don and Murph. They have gained a fan base on youtube between "The Don and Murph Show!", Shawn's DVD updates and their Around the Town Vlogs. Finally, they made a short film that they released on DVD, which they made many before, but none released on DVD, but now, onto the review of their first release; The Caged Girl?

It stars Shawn C. Phillips as a young college girl, and M.J. Kelley as an obsessed stalker of the girl. Finally, the stalker kidnaps the girl and forces her to treat him like her boyfriend. From there begins a lot of dark humor and the girl trying to escape. It was fun for me to watch, and pretty funny too. They have it released on Youtube if you feel like being cheap. Shawn and M.J. deserve more recognition since, knowing it was along the lines of a no- budget film, it was pretty good and enjoyable and a fun way to kill about 20 minutes. Some scenes here and there felt a bit slow, and there are some other parts that kept it from a higher rating, but still, I enjoyed it. I honestly think the next one they make (which they announced they're planning on making another soon), they should send it into the Tromadance Film Festival since they accept any film without an entry fee. I honestly cannot wait for their next short film, so be sure to make another soon, Shawn and M.J.! If you guys are reading this, there are only two words that describe how I feel; Great job!

Although it's extremely low budget, still fun and well made.

Directed by the youtube icons Shawn and MJ, this movie is very well made in terms of interesting characters and music. The music in this movie is superb and very well done. The humor element is extremely present in this movie, which is a plus.

The movie also had amazing performances by every single person in the three person cast. MJ played a very funny psychopath, similar to chop-top from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Shawn played a women very well, and Joe Frantz played a Kurt Russel type of character.

Overall, even though this movie was short and didn't really contain much development, is a fun way to spend a half an hour.
