Summary
Reviewers say 'The Pack' is a reality show with mixed reactions. Many appreciate the adorable dogs and heartwarming bonds. However, critics argue it overly dramatizes and commercializes relationships, focusing on cuteness rather than genuine interactions. Concerns about dog treatment and stress during challenges are raised. The lack of mixed-breed dogs and overly sentimental portrayal of owners draw criticism. Despite this, many find the show enjoyable and a positive representation of dog-human bonds.

So much wasted potential. The unnecessary drama is obvious and feels insincere. If we wanted to watch a daily soap, that's what we'd watch instead.
Basic balance is missing. It's crushing for anyone who wants to watch a fair game to endure, right from the first episode. The entire thing feels boring, even if the challenges are good. You want to enjoy it and support it, because, DOGS! but soon you run out of excuses to justify wasting your time.

Cute show and the challenges were impressive. However, for a show all about dogs and giving back, I was disappointed to see that contestants were only "pure bred or designer breeds". It would have been a breath of fresh air to see a mix breed or two with a cute rescue story. There are a number of dogs that are mutts that need homes.
I really wanted to like this show, for the dogs and the donated money. But honestly, I couldn't get past the first episode. Owners forcing their dogs to do things when they look nervous, or even get hurt. Ex: Dogs had to dig through sand, dog started sneezing, owner pushed his face down to keep going. Some of the dogs were trained therapy dogs or similar, some of them just home pets. But I felt like all the owners treated their dogs as objects. All of them were from rich fancy backgrounds and all the dogs were purebred. Would be nice to see some mutts in there, or do the show with adoptable dogs! There was drama with all the owners, or they had sob stories.
Editing was choppy and hard to follow. So basically: Pros: Dogs, money to good cause, fast paced, challenges Cons: Bratty owners, not amazing dog treating, challenges were unfair, choppy editing. Too much drama.

Don't watch if you don't love dogs. It's fun but little silly. Only so much you can do with a owner and dog. Was a fun watch. Watch with open mind.
1. Difficult to watch and keep track of what is actually happening. Editing is very fast paced, no shot lasts more than a couple of seconds, which makes watching very stressful. The competitors are going to very cool locations, but the editing has completely ruined enjoying the show.
2. When competitions are happening it is difficult to follow the competitors and root for someone, which completely takes away from the pleasure of watching any form of "challenge". I have no idea, how much time has passed, how far someone is from another competitor etc. This could be a "making-of" show of the competition, not the actual footage. In the end you just want to turn the show off, because as a viewer I have no idea what is going on from a competitive standpoint.
3. Basically because the competitive element is unwatchable, a viewer is just left with watching the personal sob stories of some completely random people.
4. The idea in itself is very cool and could be executed better with more focus on the competition with maybe a stopwatch and less with some completely irrelevant interviews from contestants.
5. Beautiful locations and background shots.
Unfortunately a waste of time, due to errors made in the focus on irrelevant things.
