I've only seen the first episode, but I can say with certainty, this is the first time I've been optimistic about nu Trek.
It is actually optimistic. It seems episodic. It seems like Trek. Characters are also likeable, relatable.

I have to admit that Star Trek: Strange New Worlds was so much better than I expected. This is the prequel to the original Star Trek and even has some familiar characters like Spock and Uhura. It's led by Captain Pike (Anson Mount) and has basically the same plot as the original in where they explore the galaxy. This is actually one of the most well received Star Trek shows ever by both the critics and fans, it currently has a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. It has a new fresh feel while also honoring the original. This is a show that both new fans and longtime fans can both enjoy. This hooked me from the very first episode and didn't let go. I binged the entire first season over a weekend and I'm already looking forward for next season.
Great series emphasizing that the future is something Humanity can look forward to, and that pretty soon we will manifest a global social utopia and World Peace - going boldly where no man has gone before.
A pretty cute show - which sometimes goes into the realm of Soap Opera - I also like the singing in the series - in synchronicity with the harmonious melody of the Universe!
In the spirit of Cosmic Peace and Harmony, we pledge to uphold the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), and never bow to dictators and warmongers - upholding the UN Charter and International Human Rights Law in the Global Community.
As evidenced by Star Trek, Good will always triumph over evil, and the most important thing for Humanity is to live in Peace and Prosperity.
NB: It should be emphasized that the notion of nuclear deterrence - the false theory that the retaliatory potential and destructive force of nuclear weapons prevents mad warmongers from launching a nuclear attack - is sheer folly.
As already Albert Einstein advocated, a nuclear free world is the only option for the future of Humanity.
Indeed, leaders around the world - including UN Chief António Guterres, Volker Türk and Japan's leaders Sanae Takaichi, Fumio Kishida and Kazumi Matsui - are advocating a nuclear-free world.
On that note we wish to remind all People that Peace on Earth is possible.
The importance of belonging to Humanity takes precedence over all the distinctions that may separate one nation from another.
The thing that matters most is not that we have any particular cultural or national identity, or that we abide by any particular religious, political or philosophical conviction, but that we share with all People the highest values of Humanity: Love, Cooperation and Compassion.
We encourage all Global Citizens to promote Peacebuilding and a nuclear free world, to manifest the UN Charter in the Global Community.
NB: A Just Peace must be restored between Ukraine and Russia to stop WW 3. We urge all leaders to work together to restore a Just Peace, International Law and the UN Charter; to stop further loss of Live.
Love and Light. God Bless. Peace Profound.

Strange New Worlds began like a love letter to classic Trek, episodic structure, a charismatic Pike, and just enough retro charm to make us believe the franchise had found its soul again. For a few glorious episodes, it felt like Starfleet was back on course.
But then came the drift. The tonal chaos. The genre-hopping. The canon crimes. And suddenly, we weren't watching Star Trek anymore, we were watching Kurtzman Trek, where emotional depth is replaced by trauma flashbacks, and legacy characters are rewritten like fanfic with a studio budget.
Episodes like Four-and-a-Half Vulcans and Wedding Bell Blues don't just miss the mark, they vaporise it. Spock becomes a rom-com lead, La'an dreams of ballet, and Chapel's arc feels like it was lifted from a CW drama. The Enterprise crew spends more time navigating their feelings than the galaxy, and the Prime Directive is treated like a vague suggestion.
This isn't exploration. It's exposition. It's Star Trek: Feelings Edition, where every character has a tragic backstory and every plot twist is designed to trend on social media for 24 hours before being forgotten
The production values are stellar. The cast is game. But the writing? It's a transporter accident of tone, pacing, and philosophy. Trek used to challenge us. Now it coddles us. It used to ask "What does it mean to be human?" Now it asks "Did Spock text back?"
Strange New Worlds started with promise, but somewhere along the way, it warped into Kurtzman Trek, a franchise boldly going... away from everything that made Star Trek matter.

This show is the best TV has to offer. The creativity of the producers and staff is unmatched.
My only suggestion is to do more humor and much less violence. If it were not for the obligatory violence I would have given this show a 10 start rating.
The musical scores are brilliant! The "Rhapsody" episode is a perfect showcase for all the talent involved in creating this series.

- TriviaBruce Horak, the actor who plays Hemmer, is legally blind, just like his character's species, the Aenar, who are also blind.
- GoofsThere are some rank insignia mistakes. Number One is introduced as "Lieutenant Commander Una Chin-Riley" yet she is wearing the rank insignia of a full commander: two full stripes. A Lieutenant Commander's rank insignia is a full stripe under a thin stripe (in TOS it is a full stripe and a staggered stripe). It is not uncommon for a ship's first officer to be a Lt. Commander if they have not been in the position long.
Spock at this point is a Lieutenant but he is wearing Lieutenant Commander's stripes; a Lieutenant just has one stripe. La'an is the ship's chief of security and the ship's second officer. She is also wearing Lt. Commander stripes but is addressed as a Lieutenant, but it would make more sense for her to be a Lieutenant Commander. Either way both of their rank insignia are not matching the rank they are addressed by.
Ortegas is addressed as a Lieutenant but is wearing Lieutenant Commander's strips. A Lieutenant Commander may be addressed as a Commander or Lieutenant Commander but never as just a Lieutenant, so either her rank insignia or the manner she is addressed by the rest of the crew is in error.
