Christoph Waltz has boarded the cast of “Only Murders in the Building” Season 5.

The “Inglourious Basterds” star will join the Hulu series in a recurring guest star role when “Only Murders in the Building” returns for its fifth installment. Like each season of “Only Murders,” details regarding Waltz’s role and storyline are being kept under wraps. Production is currently underway on the new season.

Waltz will appear alongside “Only Murders in the Building” stars Martin Short, Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Michael Cyril Creighton, who most recently traveled to Los Angeles in Season 4 to shepherd the film adaptation of their podcast. Exclusive: Amplify Pictures has hired former CAA, Quibi and Picturestart exec Luke Esselen to take on a senior role as the international studio pushes into scripted.

Esselen has been named Senior Scripted Executive, reporting into Amplify’s Amsterdam-based Chief Content Officer, Rachel Eggebeen. He will be based in L.A., where Amplify is based, and be responsible for a slate of scripted projects that have an emphasis on ongoing series and franchises.

New Superman actor David Corenswet sets up his first movie role in Mr. Irrelevant for after his DC debut. The actor began his career in 2018 by guest starring in several TV shows, including Ryan Murphy's The Politician and Hollywood, before starring in the A24 horror film Pearl in 2022. This year, he had a supporting role in Twisters and is set to break out in a big way with his role in James Gunn's Superman, the first live-action film in the new DC Universe, releasing in July 2025.

Now, the new Superman actor has set up his first movie role for after his DC debut. According to Deadline, David Corenswet will star in the sports movie Mr. Irrelevant as John Tuggle, who was given the titular title after being selected as the final pick in the 1983 NFL draft. Acclaimed filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is assembling a star-studded cast for his upcoming film based on Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.

We’ve seen multiple streaming companies remove titles from their service over the last year in a bid to save money, and Deadline has reported that Roku has joined them. The outlet reports that Roku has begun removing a handful of titles from their service, including Most Dangerous Game starring Christoph Waltz.

Most Dangerous Game began life as a Quibi Original (remember that mess?) before it was salvaged by Roku, who renewed the series for a second season. After learning that he will soon die from a terminal illness and desperate to provide for his pregnant wife, Dodge Maynard (Liam Hemsworth) accepts an invitation from a mysterious man (Christoph Waltz) to participate in a deadly game of survival. Each hour Dodge survives will earn him more money, for a total of $24.5 million if he survives the full 24 hours.

Exclusive: Roku has begun removing titles including scripted shows Most Dangerous Game starring Christoph Waltz and Slip from Zoe Lister-Jones.

It is the latest streamer to remove titles from its service following similar moves by Paramount+, Disney+, Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max and AMC Networks.

Roku revealed yesterday that it was set to remove some content as part of a cost-cutting drive that also saw around 300 employees laid off. It said that it would take a hit of between $55M-$65M for removing “select existing licensed and produced content from company-operated services on its TV streaming platform”.

The company will, however, continue to order original series and sources note that this process is part of its regular review of programming.

Arnold Schwarzenegger is back in Fubar, the eight-episode action-comedy series now streaming on Netflix. Schwarzenegger plays a retired CIA operative who is pulled back into the field one last time only to join his spy daughter Emma (played by Monica Barbaro) on assignment. The series was created by Nick Santora, who is known for his work on hit shows like Prison Break and Scorpion.

To help navigate Fubar’s big story twists and specific tone, Santora and co. turned to composer Tony Morales. Morales, who has previously collaborated with Santora on Scorpion, Most Dangerous Game, and The Fugitive, created a rich score that bounces between sweeping orchestral pieces and lively band numbers. Arnold Schwarzenegger is back.

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for the “Terminator” star’s upcoming action-comedy series, titled “Fubar.”

“Everywhere I go, people ask me when I’m going to do another big action comedy like ‘True Lies.’ Well, here it is,” Schwarzenegger said in a statement. “‘Fubar’ will kick your ass and make you laugh — and not just for two hours. You get a whole season.”

“Fubar” will show what happens when a father and daughter discover their entire relationship was built on a lie and that they are each CIA operatives. As the two join forces, the eight-episode series will depict themes of family dynamics with humor, action and, of course, spies. The trailer shows Schwarzenegger lighting a cigar, skirting corners and walking away from a literal dumpster fire.

The series marks the actor, former California governor, bodybuilder and all-around action icon’s first TV series.

Season two of Most Dangerous Game is coming to Roku Channel next month. The first season of the action thriller series was released on Quibi as 15 small episodes before that streaming service shut down. Roku Channel saved Most Dangerous Game and several other Quibi original series in early 2021.

Starring Liam Hemsworth, Christoph Waltz, Sarah Gadon, Zach Cherry, Chris Webster, Billy Burke, Jimmy Akingbola, and Natasha Liu Bordizzo, the first season follows a dying man named Dodge Tynes (Hemsworth) who agrees to be hunted for sport over a 24-hour period in order to earn money to leave his wife and their unborn child. The 15 episodes were assembled into a 127-minute movie and released on Prime Video.

Season two, titled Most Dangerous Game: New York, stars Waltz, David Castañeda, Anna Gunn, Ciara Bravo, Martina Ortiz Luis, and Aaron Poole.

The Most Dangerous Game season 2 trailer from Roku reveals a first look at the revived Quibi series. The great experiment of Quibi was meant to deliver streaming content via mobile phones in easily-digestible bite-sized bits, but instead of catching on to become the next big internet craze, the service folded less than a year after being launched. But Quibi’s content at least was not lost, as Roku quickly swooped in to acquire its catalog.

While much of what Quibi made had little potential for long-lasting life, its action show The Most Dangerous Game generated enough intrigue to warrant further exploration, and now Roku has dropped a trailer for season 2 of the series.

Christoph Waltz headlines the show’s cast as Miles Sellars, the organizer of the titular most dangerous game. The story was of course inspired by the famous novel The Most Dangerous Game, published in 1924.

Earlier in 2022, the actor said that his next action movie, What’s My Name, will be the last he ever appears in as an action star. He will play himself in the movie and the story will be inspired by "real elements" of his life.

What's My Name sounds very familiar to one of his highest-rated movies on Rotten Tomatoes, Jcvd. That movie also saw Van Damme play a fictional version of himself. “The Witcher” has been renewed for a fourth season by Netflix, though the hit fantasy series will be missing one familiar face. Henry Cavill will exit the production after the upcoming third season debuts, with Liam Hemsworth set to take over the lead role of Geralt of Rivia.

The streamer announced the renewal and casting news on Saturday afternoon, with both Hemsworth and Cavill also releasing statements. Reading into the tone of both statements, the decision seems to be an amicable passing of the torch.

Netflix has renewed The Witcher for a fourth season with a twist.

Liam Hemsworth will replace Henry Cavill in the epic drama series, taking the reins as Geralt of Rivia.

The move comes ahead of the third season of the series, which will return in summer 2023. A four-part prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin launches December 25, 2022.

Cavill, who revealed earlier this week he will return in the role of Superman, played the grim Geralt of Rivia, the bane of supernatural beasties in the first three seasons of the drama series.

The Witcher is a story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

Oscar-winner Christoph Waltz will portray legendary Old Hollywood director Billy Wilder in a biographical film from director Stephen Frears, the film’s producer Jeremy Thomas announced Monday.

“Billy Wilder and Me” is part coming-of-age-story and part true-life portrait about a young woman who begins working with Wilder during the filming of “Fedora” on a Greek island in 1977. But as she continues with him to Germany to continue the shoot, she finds herself joining him on a journey into the memory of his family history. The Austrian-Hungarian born Wilder is the director of such masterpieces as “Sunset Blvd.,” “The Apartment,” “Some Like It Hot,” “Double Indemnity” and many more.

Christopher Hampton, who is collaborating with Frears for the third time after working together on “Dangerous Liaisons” and “Cheri,” wrote the script based on the novel “Mr. Wilder and Me” from author Jonathan Coe.

Lonely Planet is billed as a love story set in Morocco. Specifics with regard to its plot are being kept under wraps. Grant is also producing alongside Sarah Timberman and Liza Chasin for 3dot Productions, with VP Studio Film Kira Goldberg serving as creative lead for Netflix.

“Bel-Air,” a dramatic reboot of the Will Smith ’90s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” has released its first trailer. The series will debut its first three episodes on Peacock on Feb. 13, with subsequent new episodes being released weekly on the streamer.
