It's not often a movie will get me to shed a few tears unintentionally, but this is one of those films that managed to do so.
As other reviewers pointed out, there is a thin line between disciplining your child and abusing them. The movie also threads over this topic ever so slightly along with giving a few scenes juxtaposing how parents need to be firm but also avoid stepping over the line. We get to see this in practice where the main character's nephew comes across as a bit bratty, and he at times will chide him. But then we also see what happens in the case of Da-bin and her brother, and how that wasn't just discipline but outright abuse.
The director did a fine job of pulling at the heart strings to force the audience into truly uncomfortable situations, which was highlighted by the excellent acting from the two kids. It really made you feel for them. Couple that with a moving soundtrack and well lit cinematography, and the movie gives you this contrast between what should be a feel-good experience and something truly heartbreaking.
This is a tough film to watch at times, and if you're not in the mood to shed some tears (no matter how tough you think you are), then you might want to go for something a bit cheery. Even still, this is a fantastic film, and tugging on the emotional cords of viewers comes naturally with the way the story unfolds, which makes it well worth the watch.

This was a hard watch - not because it's an awful movie but because there is quite bit of child abuse happening. Think of a gangster films where a gangster beats up someone who owes them money or another gang member...but that someone is a child and the abuser is the step mother. It's that type of abuse happening on screen and it is rough to get through. I enjoyed it because it was a well done film - even if some of the characters weren't well flushed out - but I don't know if I can watch it again. I would recommend at least one viewing of this as it is worth the watch. I know it's a movie and everything is done safely and is fake, but the actress playing the step mother provably had to see a psychiatrist and a priest after some of those scenes.
A girl charged for killed his brother but a rookie lawyer stands for her and try to find his killer...
Very emotion movie about the child abusal..and all characters rocks..!!
If u have strong heart then u can watch this movie..!
Crying, sadness and sorry to the situation of the children who are forced to deal with his example of de-sanimagonic creatures, I feel the fullest of distress and distress for being adult and I cannot protect them. I wish from all my heart that there is a guardful owner for every child who is forced to live with
Decent movie based on true events of child abuse. Though the story is kind of slow paced and predictable, the moral is deep and thought provoking. Fine performance by Seon yu and the rest of the acting is decent, while the script and directing can be improved.
Child abuse is common in Asian countries where it was culturally more accepted, especially in the old days people believes beating up children is for their good, which is of course unacceptable in today's standard, that can lead to depression or life long trauma on an individual.
