I have never rated a movie ever before. However I made it a point to login this time and Rate this particular movie. This is because, I have lost some IQ points while watching this movie.
Even from a totally mindless comedy standpoint, this movie needs to be called out for it truly underestimates its audience's entertainment appetite and this could be the only way (although highly insignificant ) i could give it back.
PS: My biggest disappointment is to see Javed Jafri in it. Why did you sign this one, dude? I can totally understand for others in this movie, but why you? I can't buy that it's for money. The only plausible reason I could think of is you wanted to show off how fit you are for this age still and this movie wanted to have at least one timeless tag to it.
PPS: David Dhawan : It's okay to just say THE END

Another terrible remake. If they want to do a remake why this? this is a really poor script. A lot of meaningless dialogues and those dialogues are supposed to be funny. About acting, is director wants actors to perform like that. They are overacting none of them were good to me. I was disappointed with Varun's performance. One of Sara Ali Khan's previous movie Simmba has these kinds of silliness. There is a director just for credits that's it. Even without this director, this movie could be made. Even you are a fan of the original movie or cast I do not recommend this to you.
I have seen you in October and I know you can act and probably want to do more movies like October.
Please go ahead and make movies such as Coolie No.1 for the masses and be proud of it. But also consider your viewers who do access OTT platforms. With no judgement, you know that the viewers of theaters and the OTT and very very different, so you ought to take opportunities in OTT shows/series/movies wherein you need to do serious stuff like October.
I wish a very happy new year, you are better than this.

This story was best suited for the 90's and should have been left alone. Watching this movie automatically put me in the comparison mode with the original where Govinda, Karisma and all the other supporting cast were effortless and supreme in their acting skills. In this movie, all the seasoned and veterans have lowered their skills and just lost the plot. The leading cast are pure disappointment. The movie is far from entertaining and can aptly be called pure torture. Watch it if you have no expectations and plenty of time to kill.
The title is enough to describe the movie in one word. Back in 90's there was a different Bollywood.
There were typical recipe masala movies, which sole purpose was to provide, typical song filled, funny (in a way) with a little drama and action based movies, in other words a good time pass movies with no sense at all.
But Bollywood has changed now, with movies coming with a subject, message and some serious acting. David Dhawan back in 90's was the typical paisa wasool type director / producer, but that formula is long gone.
Varun Dhawan, a good actor, but still finding his name in the industry, going for such movie will not help with its cause. Judwa re-make perhaps an idea which should have remained till that only, making re-makes, word by word, scene by scene but with more horrible overacting could be a disaster and this is what this movie is all about.
Sara Ali Khan, an item figure and nothing more, she has to learn a lot and do a serious film, otherwise, wont be here for too long.
Shikha Talsania, wasted, completely wasted in the movie.
The movie has nothing new to offer, over acting by Varun in each and every scene, might be entertainment in cinema for few but over all a horrible thing to watch online.
