    Started Off So Well!

What a waste of some good actors' skills and time. This series began with such promise. Season 1 was fair to middling, with just enough to create interest in watching Season 2. However, Season 2 rapidly declined into something close to absolute farce! The various plots became so ridiculous which in turn dragged the reputations of the otherwise good actors down with them. The script got worse and the idea that intelligent, highly-qualified V vets could behave so stupidly, was totally ridiculous! The scenery was beautiful, some of the music was ok but sadly, I feel obliged to warn people not to waste their time on this truly disappointing, totally unrealistic TV series.

    The Drama is Comical

I was so set to enjoy this show on Acorn - love the locale and seemed like a good plot. So disappointed. The overdone drama, goes from one crisis to the next in a matter of seconds - tiresome to the point of becoming comical. The acting is mediocre. Can't believe this was given a Season 2.

I managed to get through First Season, 3 episodes and just couldn't manage the rest. All Creatures Great and Small it ain't. There are too many crisis going at one time so hard to keep track of exactly what is happening.

Overall this reminds me of a cheesy soap opera and that believe it not, is a stretch. Acorn usually has great shows but this was not one of them.

    Coronation Street, but with animals!

This is not "All Creatures Great and Small". It's a very thinly disguised, very bad, cheesy soap opera that is filled with characters who lie, cheat, steal etc. The acting is pretty bad and the script pretty much matches the putrid and cloying soundtrack. The sets are pretty much designed for a soap opera, with vases of flowers everywhere one might look. The editing is done in the format of a soap opera. A laughable bit is when the Dad has his heart attack and clutches the right side of his chest and arm. You would think a Vet show would at least get the basics right.

The thing with streaming services like Britbox and AcornTv is that they seem to fill their queues with all the failed shows on British TV, and then wonder why viewers do not stay with them on a long term basis. They are services best visited intermittently to watch the very few shows that are actually worthwhile, years after they have run their course on British TV.

    One dumpster fire after another

I am always on the lookout for new shows to watch on Acorn. The British do great dramas so this one looked interesting. I thought this would be a modern version of all creatures great and small. As I moved through series 1 I quickly realized the writers wanted to keep the drama up to Defcon 1 on a continuous basis. The amount of dysfunctional and immature and over emotional story lines between all family members, staff and friends makes me wonder that they should all be in therapy, especially the children. Many characters have no moral compass or integrity. I think the writers tried to squeeze in too many story lines that clipped through at such a fast pace that it doesn't leave any time for the watcher to rest. Maybe they knew they only had two seasons to squeeze it all in. And forget any solid relationships. Someone will cheat or lie real soon. Very frustrating.

... this production deserved a wider audience, and an ending

    ... Doctor Who - Battlestar Galactica - Lost - The Wire - Entourage - 24 - Veronica Mars - Torchwood - The Sopranos - Curb Your Enthusiasm - Spooks - The West Wing - The X Factor - Arrested Development - The Shield - Deadwood - Grey's Anatomy - Gilmore Girls... list goes on-n-on

... 2006 a year of major competition for shows like The Chase, a good show but comeon, going up against real heavyweights, hardly was a match... a soap with loads of family drama, lies, infidelity, kids... All Creatures Great & Small on steroids... running just for two seasons 8 & 12 episodes... it was a show that really-maybe could have should-have gone longer, yet what would there have been left to tell... maybe like an ending worth an effort

... manner in which this production concluded after twenty episodes is absolute rubbish... and is-NOT worth-time-spent-watching.. period... leaving viewers abruptly-hanging sheer-nonsense.
