Dreadful mistake quite rightly never broadcast

As a huge Secret Army fan (my review called it the best ever BBC drama), I wanted to see this extra episode for the final series, set in 1969 as a reunion of lifeline, just to see if it really is as bad as suggested. It was never broadcast but has leaked onto the internet. Yes, it is bad, on a scale barely believable, so many things are done poorly in complete contrast to the original series even though it was recorded at the end of series 3. Lifeline members seemed bitter and angry, often about things not relevant to lifeline, and the comraderie was completely missing on what could, and should, have been an extremely emotional episode. The decision not to show it must have been an easy one.

    • Trivia
Set 24 years after the previous episode, this edition was intended to wrap up the storyline but was never in fact aired. Officially internal BBC strike action had led to no time for editing to be completed before its transmission date. Various rumours have provided contrary reasons, including unsatisfactory ageing prosthetics, the wish to avoid upsetting war veterans and the whole storyline potentially scuppering the planned spin-off Kessler (1981).
    • Goofs
Both Lisa's grave and the BBC documentary "In Our Time" state that she was born in 1921 and died in February 1943, meaning that she was at most 22 at the time of her death. However, in Lisa - Codename Yvette (1977), her aunt Louise stated that she was 24.
