Barney and Andy are as bad of actors as Bee

Always liked Francis Bavier (Aunt Bee), and Hope Summers (Clara Edwards) together. Worked well as a team. Sometimes it's friends, sometimes as adversarials. Clara can really be nasty. But, we get the gentler, kinder Clara here.

Barney steals the show with his horrendous acting. Horrible delivery, and horrible cadence. I liked how Andy told him you don't have to wear your Indian headdress all the time off stage. But, Barney seemed to really enjoy getting into the Indian chief part.

Last Olan Soule episode is a shame. Always nailed his part as the sometimes uppity choir director.

Outstanding epilogue. Again Don Knotts in a very funny scene.

    Back to the House

When Clara goes to visit a sick relative, there is no one handy to play the lead in the Centennial play. Bee, who had a part in a childhood play, gets her oar in and gets John, the director, to give her the role. John is the artiste in town, directing the choir, and now the big play. Bee, unfortunately, has no acting chops at all. Now John, who is the consummate jerk, doesn't have the heart to tell her she is finished. Anyway, it's Bee again failing at something outside the kitchen. On a sour note, Barney as the Indian chief is the worst thing in the play. Stay tuned.

    • Trivia
During a scene, Barney mentions the name Tex Ritter. Years later, Don Knotts would work with Tex Ritter's son, John Ritter, in Three's Company.
    • Goofs
When Aunt Bee comes into the living room, she's holding the bottom of the coffee pot with her bare hand. It would've been hot.
