    Some Brilliant Moments

This may be the one Joanna Moore episode that I am not effusive about, and I guess its because she doesn't see that Andy would be so miffed at her not being available for their date. After seeing this several times, I do realize that to Peggy, a date with Andy doesn't rise to the level of a surprise visit from an old school pal. SO, I am raising my rating to an "8". But her failure to explain this to Andy earlier tells me that she is definitely NOT the girl for Andy; regardless of how they mold the ending to fit the desired continuing relationship between Andy and Peggy. What this episode does do is provide wonderful comedic opportunities between Andy and the other women Barney has dredged up for him.

Wouldn't you know his name would be Don?

A true masterpieces. Brilliant casting of the "fun girls" (Joyce jameson, Jean Carson), Lydia (Josie Lloyd), & Al (Michael Ross). Again Barney is the instigator of the humorous turns the story takes. Andy wiil never go looking for a magazine in the courthouse again after being stood up. Immediate 10* rating without thinking twice about it. One of the greatest sitcom episodes of all time.

    What's This All About, Bernie

Peggy and Andy get into a tiff, both acting childish. Barney assumes they are breaking up and becomes determined to get Andy a new girl. In the process he brings a woman named Lydia over. The two or three minute scene is one of the funniest I've ever seen. That doesn't work out, but Barney is undeterred, dragging the sheriff to a restaurant in Mount Pilot where two women of questionable character are brought into the picture. Talk about discomfort! Some of the most precious dialogue you will ever hear.

Barney Fife - Man About Town

It never occurred to me until watching this episode that Barney Fife is quite the playboy!
    7toldyousew

The premise is not believable about Peggy not turning away her old friend.

When Peggy's old friend showed up unannounced, she should have told him, "Sorry, I have a date, please come back tomorrow or the next available day. And call me on the phone first. " At the end of the episode she told Andy that she could not turn away her friend. No! She has her obligation to her date. And she is not to share her date with her friend, either, as she tried to do. And, with her not realizing this/admitting this by the end of the episode, she and Andy are only opening herself up to repeating this same rude behavior of hers again. She was a jerk.

Barney wants Andy go to The Tip-Top Cafe in Mt. Pilot because Barney got a tip they were selling liquor. Mt. Pilot is not in their jurisdiction as police officers and they couldn't make an arrest there even if it was true.
