I don't remember hearing about this movie going to theaters. So when I chanced upon it in the New Release section of blockbuster and read the back "An ancient druid book of unspeakable power has survived for centuries, protected by the dark shadows of the natural world. etc.." I thought this movie would be good no doubt about it. Well. the premise is good. The actual movie however is horrid. The actors (if you can call them that) are pretty much on par with Napolean Dynamite (not in a funny way, in an bad emotionless way). You will find yourself thinking "Is he scared, or is he just cold". Aside from the acting, or lack thereof, the movie appears to have been filmed with a home video recorder. Even then, it would make you wonder if you yourself could have created a better movie with that recorder you've got stored in the garage. I believe the movie could have had promise had it been done by a major production company. Overall, this movie receives a 1.
this is one truly awful--i hesitate to use the word--movie.it's very low budget, which isn't always a bad thing.the real problem with this movie is the abysmal acting, which overshadows everything.the story is stupid also.i have seen better high school plays,i kid you not.i didn't make it any where near the end of this movie.it just got to the point where i couldn't take it anymore.i felt sure my head would explode if i watched another microsecond.just because you have a camera and some friends to appear in in front of said camera, doesn't mean you are making a movie.i don't know what this was,but movie doesn't describe it.this is just my opinion, and some people may have fun with how awful it is,but i thought it was beyond that point.this turkey gets a very well deserved 0/10
Hey all, thanks for checking out our flick. We started filming it when we were 19. I think the "story" of the filming process of the movie should be brought to attention. We never worked a camera or never took a film class. It does show throughout the film, but remember to take this film lightly, it is what it is. It's a "no budget" not a "low budget" cheesy horror flick. We wanted to make something that you could sit down, grab some beers and drink with your friends while making fun of it. If you have watched this movie seriously, you got some issues. It was made to be cheesy and bad, for pure entertainment purposes. Next month I will post a list of funny things that happen in it. For example, cameras being in the shot and snow, (yes, snow). Cheers!
Now mind you, I love horror movies. The adrenaline rush from being scared is a high for me, but I also love horrible horror movies, and this one, had me laughing the entire night. When I read the back I knew it had to either be very good, or very bad and the fact that the actors were trying to be serious the entire time, had reminded me quite a bit, of the first Evil Dead. Once I began to watch it, I thought, the idea of the movie and the plot really was an alright idea, but the director just didn't have enough sense to know it wasn't going to work. Though this movie isn't scary at all, at least your entertained one way or another.
Considering that my wife and I have a 15 month old daughter...we don't get to spend too much time watching movies, so in this case I guess it was a good thing we picked this movie....we turned it off 15 minutes into it. The cover of the movie and first 3-5 minutes had me thinking this could turn into an alright B movie, boy was I wrong. The actors (if you can call them that) who were in this should have been in an over the top drama class not a "horror flick" and the dialog...wow, that was by far the worst I think I have ever watched. By the way...it doesn't take a lot of money to write well. Good thing Blockbuster sent us a free pass or else I would have requested my money back!
