Steer Clear Of This Small Town...

A man has a blowout and winds up in RED RIDGE to get his tire fixed. Unfortunately for him, this town seems to be populated by nefarious hillbillies who all seem to be part of an eeevil conspiracy involving abduction, sexual slavery, and murder.

Side Note: The fact that such a diabolical plot is being carried out is astonishing, since these thuggish hicks are barely intelligent enough to keep breathing in and out!

When the man tries to leave town, he's stopped by a screaming woman, and the real trouble begins.

While certainly not a masterpiece of suspense, this movie does have some effectively unsettling moments (i.e. The woman in the trunk). Like so many "modern" movies, everyone is unlikeable, so there's really no one to root for or care about.

    Worth watching once...

Red Ridge will surprise you .

"Red Ridge" proves that a solid film can be made without breaking the bank. I had known about it through people that were involved on both sides of the camera. That can often get in the way of enjoying a film , but not at all. Red Ridge doesn't rely on tricks or complex twists , just good pacing and truth. There was never a time when i said , " that would never happen", or "why didn't they just .......". It simply introduced us to some people, put them in a scary situation, and then "we" wanted to stay with them to see if they can get away. For me personally, Red Ridge was a that movie i wish i could've been in . I hope Red Ridge gets seen by all the right people. These guys deserve to be seen. Brent

    Very Scary Movie

You totally get into the fear that is being displayed on the screen. Grips you by the throat and doesn't let go. The worst part of the story is that it is based on true events. This movie reminds me of Monster.

Driving past small towns along the Texas - Mexico border will give you cause to stop and think of the horror. You will think of the darkest side of man's cruelty with horrific vision.

Also have to mention Damian Skinner did an amazing job directing this film especially working with Brandon Matthews and Dawn Gray. Both are relatively unknowns but have put on a performance that is very believable. Good work Damian, Brandon and Dawn.

I have to admit, I loved the climax at the end. I don't want to spoil it but it is worth the price of the ticket!

You will understand this film if you recognize that man can truly be the worst creature on this planet! Be warned, this movie is very scary!

Rides high on interest, but no so brains

In the first 10 minutes, it was easy to pass this off as what I pretty well, expected the quality of this film to be like. Riding on too little. But this B grade pic, with it's share of faults, gets more engrossing, as it goes along. There are some pathetic moments, as there are some pathetic and sick characters. Human trafficking movies, obviously sell, like fodder, and you could fare worse than this one. Some underwritten characters, but not some bad performances from few, where we have a strong appealing male lead, with a bit of a sobriety problem, who becomes of course the hero, while I wasn't at home, with some of his attitude. Coming across a damsel in distress, a HT escapee victim, he soon becomes caught up, and framed as the shooter of this crooked cop, involved in this illegal enterprise, true as today's head lines. Things get worse, when his ex is trapped in this house off ill repute, a sort of holding tank for slave victims, before being auctioned off. The ex's yummy half clad daughter, is chained to a bed with her. There's many many amateur patches, where to me, I kind if respect this sort of Indie film making. RR isn't half a bad pic, but it's not good. There's predicability too. And the young actress would of been in much more pain, if three of her toe's were snapped, at a joint, or on the part of the abducter, having keys to a set of a cuffs, in arm's reach of the enslaved, who's wrists weren't both cuffed to the bed railing behind. I do like, how the likeable family come together, at the end. Kind a striking movie cover too. Some truly repellent bad guys in this too.

    Waste of time.

Quite possibly one of the stupidest movies ever made. The acting and story are terrible.

They portray Texas as the land where most men are in-bred hillbilly rapists, or drunks stumbling around, and women are kidnapped, raped and killed on a constant basis. Texas is just like the city, suburbs, or countryside where you live, there is just more of it. People are just like the people where you live, a few drunks, a few crazed psychos, and many decent friendly people. Texans pay the rent, work hard at 9 to 5 jobs, raise families and don't marry their sister or rape every woman they see.

So the only thing worse than this stupid boring movie is the stereotype they try to shove down your throat.

I don't know who wrote that great review but he must have been talking about some other movie.

    This was just awful.
