One of the worst movies I've ever seen.

This was not worth my time to watch, and it definitely was a waste of time to make. John Amos has gone from James Evans to Kunta Kinte to a travesty and a tragedy. Of course his name was attached, seeing as he wanted to produce his son's movie. However, If I were him, I would remove my name, my voice, my physical body, from this drivel. The premise of stealing a neighbor's watermelons to fund the payment of taxes could be real. But the writing is worse than a preschool nature play filled with dancing flowers and ribbeting frogs. Maybe if the movie had contained some dancing flowers, it would have redeemed itself.

Do Not See This Movie For you Own Good!

How can James Amos, an intelligent focused man who has fought to portray black men of dignity his whole life, produce prodigy (the director & producer) that could make such an affront to any intelligent or entertaining sensibilities. This is easily the most unsatisfying comedy and worst movie I have seen this year and a clear runner up for the most dreadful movie viewed in my life. James Amos has no self respect to participate in this film with such thoughtless, racist and even worse for a comedy, unfunny drivel. Avoid at all cost if you respect yourself. Not only is the plot absolutely uncreative and deplorably stupid. This is cinema at its lowest. If a white person made such a movie everyone would be yelling to high hell.

If you Like Madea by Tyler Perry you need to look at this.

Old man Amos, a hard-working grocery store truck driver, has just about had it with the Brown Family and their lazy and thieving ways. Amos has always had a beautiful yard wanted the Brown's land that they don't take care of. One day the Browns decide to move to the big city. Amos dream is finally about to come true. The conflict comes to a head when the Browns start stealing juicy watermelons from Amos truck in an attempt to win a $10,000.00 watermelon contest! This is a comedy and it is not intended to make fun of any race. Remember it's a move not a life story based on real people! I have read the comments and people lighten up. Did you really watch this movie? Have you ever seen Steve Martian in the "Jerk"? Can't people just have fun with the story that writer, director and actors are trying to tell with out a racial statement being made? Life is short laugh at the humor of life and do not be commended by it.

Surprising message. Didn't see that coming

I'm laid up after surgery so my husband and I watched all kinds of movies and this one came up. I couldn't figure it out until near the end. The plot involves the Brown family; a stereotypical black welfare dependent bunch who find themselves about to lose their home and land to back taxes. Their evil neighbor is set to take advantage of their misfortune and the heist is their solution. This movie is an obvious satire on the many factions of black Americans; not taking sides with any lifestyle. But what surprised us is the message at the end which was decidedly conservative in statements against abortion and in favor of gun rights, the love and worship of Jesus Christ and putting family first. I was blown away. It was so silly I was tempted to turn it off but I'm glad I saw it through to the end.

    Hilarious, Interesting and Entertaining!!!! Great...

This movie was funny. It was the kind of African Black movie that I wasn't ashamed to say I watched. It was well put together from the beginning with the narration to the end. I thought it was brilliant how some of the dialog was used in a different context as to the way it is commonly used. The casting was great. The quality of the film all the way to the color and sound was very professionally done. I have to give props to the makers of this film.

I've seen a lot of African Black quote on quote films that made me offended or ashamed, but I must say "THIS FILM DID NOT" even the edgy parts was done tasteful and cleaver.

Props to K.C. Amos and the whole production team and cast.
